About
Virginia Vacation Rentals - Virginia Cabin Rentals & Virginia Beach Vacation Rentals:
Virginia was named after the English Queen, Elizabeth 1, who was also known as the Virgin Queen. The state is also known as the “Mother of Presidents”, as no less than eight US Presidents were born here – Woodrow Wilson, William Henry Harrison, George Washington, Zachary Taylor, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, John Tyler and James Monroe.Imagine staying in a vacation cabin with links to the President.
Virginia was originally home to many different Native American peoples including the Cherokee and Rappahannock. The Spanish had some contact as early as 1565 before Sir Walter Raleigh arrived in 1584. Virginia played an integral part in the fight for independence and it was in the Battle of Yorktown that troops under the command of George Washington emerged victorious over the British, under the command of General Cornwallis. As well as the fight for independence, Virginia also played a pivotal role in the American Civil War.
With all this history Virginia has an awful lot to offer any vacationer, whether you are looking to stay in a beach villa, rent a cabin or try a Virginia condo for your Virginia vacation rental. There are countless museums, trails and sites to visit to get a feeling for Virginia’s rich and diverse history. Visit the historic Triangle – Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown. Here at Jamestown Settlement or Colonial Williamsburg you can get a real life feel for what life may have been like way back when, as you can see first hand how life would have been.
But Virginia also has so much more to offer the vacationer. It has literally thousands of miles of coastline on the Atlantic Coast, ideal for a beach vacation rental villa.
