Venice Beach is located on the west side of Los Angeles County and is part of the City of Los Angeles. Daytime temperatures tend to range from mid 70's in the summer to mid 60's in the winter. Venice has a wonderful, moderate climate - virtually always sunny and never too hot or cold.
Venice is known for its artists and bohemian lifestyle, as well as the beautiful Venice Canals, Ocean Front Walk and shopping and restaurants of the trendy Abbot Kinney Boulevard.
Stroll along the boardwalk or watch the bodybuilders on famous Muscle Beach. Take a seat in one of the bleachers and watch various sporting events, or watch the players compete on the handball courts, volleyball courts, paddle tennis courts and basketball courts. Get a henna tattoo or have your fortune read while strolling through the shops and crafts sold on the boardwalk of Ocean Front Walk.
There are plenty of places to rent a bike or rollerblades so you can bicycle up to Malibu or down to Torrance. The bike trail stretches 22 miles, the longest beach path of its kind in the world!
From the 1310 foot concrete Venice Pier, located at the end of Washington Boulevard, you can watch seagulls and herons, or watch the surfers ride the tide below.
