Tahoe city is absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful lake-side cities in the world. During the winter you have plenty of skiing and snowboarding, which happens through the most eye catching mountains which you will ever come across, and the sport that has only just been given permission to start: heli-skiing, which is something for the more adventurous types.

Another place which you might want to try out during the ski season which are local to the area are Northstar, where there are many beautiful, family orientated private holiday homes. North star is slightly up in the mountains, so it's perfect if you just want to come out of your door and crack on strait into a great day of skiing or snowboarding. However, during the summer it gets even more exciting when you can go on a lovely romantic sunset cruise with a candlelit dinner for two or even have a day cruise up the lake with the whole family.

During the summer you have loads of water sports and activities to choose from, from sailing to deep sea diving - just in a lake and with loads of varieties of fish you'll have a fantastic time fishing which is perfect for a great family day out. Another area which is great to enjoy the beach is Kingsbeach where there are many stunning privately owned beach houses.

The great thing about being on the beach are the events which happen on the beaches especially during the summer such as big concerts and they show moves which are projected on to some form of screen which can be seen by many people.

There is also the harvest festival which is mainly made up of German foods and German beer, so that's always worth checking out. And in the evenings if you want to just chill out, relax and enjoy a nice peaceful evening in then why not grab some of the local special foods at the farmers market which is perfect for a great family night in at your self-catering cabin.
