La Mision is one of the oldest, most established communities in the region, with the beach and river community sharing the most beautiful stretch of beach for as far as the eye can see.
The river is actually an estuary, home for many exotic birds. Being a horse community, one can often hear the gentle clomp on the dirt road and spot wild horses drinking from the ravine.
A short drive away is the world famous La Fonda Hotel and spa - the ocean view from their restaurant is second to none.
If you are in the mood for local flavor the restaurants and bar located 1 minute the opposite way is home to many ranchers in the area that come in for home made cooking where the menu changes daily.
Deeper into the canyon is a home to a native tribe where weavings and hand crafted gifts can be bought. A hike thru there will take you to hot springs and a waterfall.
The best thing of all is that you are situated right in between both Rosarito and Encenada. So which ever tickles your fancy it is only a 20 minute drive in either direction to get to any number of shops, restaurants, the wine country and more.
