Madrid - the capital and largest city of Spain, home to the Manzanares river. Known to be the 10th most liveable city in the world. The city is very well known for it's industrial and banking industries, which helps with the architecture and structure of the cities buildings which makes site seeing of the city so spectacular. Your first stop could be the Royal Palace of Madrid, and then the Theatro Real (royal theatre) all of which can be easily located from your self catering apartment.

There is the Santiago Bernabe'u Stadium (Real Madrid), Moncloa square, Palacio de communicaciones (communications palace) and of course the Madrid zoo, so there's no reason to get bored on your short term holiday in your very own private apartment.
When it comes to food, Apart from the fact you have more restaurants than there are countries in the world, there really is no reason to go out, because when you're out during the day you have the chance to visit some of the many famous markets and pick up some of the foods you love, and when you get home you can cook them up to your standards and just how you like them. You can always give the Paella a chance and create your own version.
The nearby city of Toledo has some great privately owned holiday homes which you might want to try. There are plenty of other short term rental villas in Castilla La Mancha.
