The beautiful coastal city of Gdansk, previously known as Danzig, is considered to be the most beautiful city in Poland on the Baltic Sea. Filled with some fantastic architecture, a short term rental apartment in Gdansk is a wonderful way to see this serene port city.
As you walk past the canals of the city, right on the river Motława River, take the opportunity to see Gdansk's Old Town and see the amazing buildings in the City. The Hall of the Main City, the beautiful riverside houses Długie Pobrzerze, and immense St. Mary's Church - one of the largest Gothic churches in Europe - are just a few examples of what there is to see. You can also take a tour around the Gdańsk harbour and port with one of the regular sightseeing ferries, or even take a canoe-tour through the canals!
With a self-catering apartment in Gdansk, you'll find that another thing the city is famous for is it's Amber trade. Known as the Amber Capital of the World, the area around Gdansk is the richest known source of the stone, and there are plenty of shops in the city where you can purchase amber products which make fantastic souvenirs.
There's some great places nearby that are easily accessible with a rental home in Gdansk. The Kolibki Adventure Park in nearby Gdynia is a great place to take the family, with a ride range of outdoor activities including quad biking, off-roading and climbing. Just along the coast is the beautiful seaside town of Leba, where you can find some excellent private farmhouses to enjoy the Polish coast.
