The Netherlands' third largest city is a city of culture, entertainment, and learning. With it's museums, architecture and beaches there's something for everyone with a privately owned apartment in The Hague.
Step into the center of town and see the amazing buildings of the city. A selection of medieval, renaissance and Baroque periods all within the same area, with a great selection of cafés and shops nearby. The Plein ('The Square') is a great example of this, with historical buildings on three of it's four sides and bars and Cafés on the fourth, making it a great place to sit and relax as you soak in the atmosphere of the city. The Binnenhof ('Inner Court') has been the heart of Dutch politics for centuries, and makes a great place to visit and see the old buildings that overlook the Hofvijver, a pond in the middle of The Hague.
A short term rental apartment in The Hague is exactly where you need to be if you're an art lover. The Hague has a wide range of fascinating places to visit, including The Royal Picture Gallery "Mauritshuis", which boasts a large collection of works by Dutch painters including Rembrandt and Vermeer. There's also the Escher Museum, a former palace which now features works of M. C. Escher, including a multimedia journey through Escher's world called "The Escher Experience". Other non-art museums include the Museon science museum and Museum voor Communicatie - the national postal museum.
But, of course, you might just want to find a rental apartment in The Hague to lie on the beach and relax - and you can do that too! The Hague is right on the North Sea, and has resorts at Scheveningen and Kijkduin, which both let you lie on the beach, swim in the sea, explore the dunes and try out one of the local cafés and restaurants. Scheveningen also has the largest pier in the Netherlands, with bungee jumping, a casino and a 200ft high lookout tower.
While there's plenty to do in the Hague to keep you entertained for your entire vacation, don't miss the opportunity to see the other sights of The Netherlands. The captial of Amsterdam is, of course, the main place to visit. With a world-famous nightlife, trips on the canal, and museums, a self-catering apartment in Amsterdam is the best way to really do everything there is in the city.
For a different type of vacation, try one of the more rural areas of the Netherlands. The fishing village of Egmond aan Zee makes a wonderful place to see the traditional Netherlands. With a private bungalow in Egmond aan Zee you can relax on the beach and sample some of the traditional Dutch food.
