Welcome to the peaceful and beautiful town of Sansepolcro, situated in the south eastern part of Tuscany. Sansepolcro is very well known for it's artistic history and for it's architecture, which are both very beautiful.
Although it's an hour by train to the beach where most of the activities take place there is still lots to do while staying in your private, self catering farm house.
Sansepolcro is very famous for it's many festivals, especially it's wine festival and the “Palio Della Balestra” which is a crossbow tournament between the towns of Gubbio and Sansepolcro, it's a very historic tournament which dates back to 1619. both teams have to come in mediaeval costumes which are inspired by the great painter Piero Della Francesca. All the audience also have to be dressed in costumes which are inspired Piero Della Francesca. If this doesn't seem like your thing then why not head down to Sarteano, where we have many private villas or try one of the self–catering apartments in Mugello, both of which are fabulous places to visit. The cross bow takes place on the second Sunday of September so that would be a good time to head out there. There are also many wine festivals held all throughout the year which are always good fun to attend.
When it comes to activities you have the mountains just around the corner, in the winter you can enjoy a bit of skiing, snowboarding, bobsleighing (not for the faint hearted) or sledging for the little ones, and in the summer you can experience exciting activities such as, white water rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling etc.
If this sounds like your kind of holiday, peace and quiet mixed with lots of action when wanted, then Sansepolcro is definitely the place for you.
