About Sutton:

Sutton, Québec

Sutton is a great vacation destination because of all the outdoor activities available in this region and the interesting shops, art galleries and restaurants in the village.

In the winter we have the best glade skiing in the Eastern Townships at Mont Sutton for downhill skiers. Sutton en Haut offers terrific cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails. There are two stables that offer sleigh rides and we have a town skating rink.

Start the summer by celebrating Jean Baptiste day here on June 24. Great live music, face painting for the kids and fabulous fireworks at 10:00. The first weekend in July we have the annual Coupe des Amériques road cycling race that usually attracts over 200 entrants and is great fun to watch. The Tour des Arts in July opens the studios to the public of over 40 artists each year. The first weekend in August the Swiss Festival celebrates the culture of Switzerland with musical performances and cookouts on the mountain. There are many vineyards in the area offering tours and tastings. The Chapelle Ste. Agnès vineyard is of special interest because of the spectacular buildings and views from the estate, as well as their award winning ice wines.

Outdoor activities include d’Arbre en Arbre, a unique treetop adventure course. Granby Zoo and water park is an inexpensive way to see hundreds of amazing animals, birds and reptiles and to cool off on a hot summer day. It’s about a 40 minute drive from Sutton. Nearby at Bromont there is another water slide park and mountain bike trails. Parc d’environnment naturel de Sutton takes care of over 80km of hiking trails with all levels of difficulty. Also available are golf, tennis, cycling, swimming and kayaking. And in case you aren’t worn out yet we have a gym in town.

In the Fall, events include the Panoramaduodlacôte, with the ski lift operating to take “leaf peepers” up to the top of the mountain to enjoy the fall colours and the fantastic view. The Sutton Jazz Festival finds some great talent providing free outdoor shows as well as excellent indoor concerts from mid September to mid October. The Auberge des Appalaches hosts the Sutton en Blues festival with 7 or 8 weekends of the finest live blues entertainment from all over North America in October and November. Every Labour Day weekend the locals and visitors head for Brome Fair, operating since 1856, to see the largest pumpkin, best in purebred livestock, horse racing and enjoy the rides and games.
