Near by one can walk the Cranberry Glades Botanical Area,a protected pre-historic bog in the Mononghela National Forest or hike the Greenbrier or Appalachian Trails. The WV Scenic Highway,Rt 150,a riot of wild flowers in summer, is closed to automobile traffic in winter and becomes a popular cross-country skiing and snowmobiling area. One can explore the many historic Civil War Battle Fields in the area or tour General Robert E. Lee's headquarters in Beverly, WV.
