Vacation Rental Description
My goal is to provide customers low cost lodging in the Snowshoe Village while ensuring a comfortable vacation. My low price guarantee is valid from 18 Nov 2010 - 8 Dec 2011 and from 11 - 31 Mar 2012. I'll beat any comparable, verifiable offer during those dates. I have additional units if this one is booked.
You’ll have a spacious two bedroom condo that easily sleeps six. The kitchen is well-stocked with dinnerware, utensils, pots and pans, coffee maker, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, etc. so you can bring food to eat-in. You'll have free wi-fi on your device or through the desktop with webcam and loads of programs in the MBR. The master bedroom has a 1-yr old king size bed, one of the few in the building. The smaller bedroom has a 1-yr old queen size bed. Each bedroom has a TV with cable and DVD player. There’s a sleeper sofa in the living room. There are two full bathrooms, a TV/VCR/DVD player in the living room with 23 DVDs, 15 VHS tapes, an XBox with 19 games, and a mini-library with 70 books. Other videos can be rented downstairs in the lobby or at Wildcat Provisions. Your condo will have a built-in ski rack, wainscoting, and a balcony. Each bedroom and the living room have ceiling fans, unlike most of the rest of the Mountain Lodge units.

Mountain Lodge is a Ski-In/Out complex ideally located right next to the Snowshoe Village and the slopes with its own private parking lot (free to Mountain Lodge guests). You’ll be 30 yds from the primary slopes. The indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, church, and general store are a several minute walk to other buildings. Your room at the Mountain Lodge is within walking distance of the Western Territory slopes and the shuttle to night skiing at Silver Creek, giving you outstanding access to all 60 slopes. On the ground floor you’ll find a relaxing lobby with wi-fi and a warm fireplace. You’ll have Auntie Pasta’s (Italian dining), a live comedy club, an exercise room, and a game room in the building. Mountain Lodge offers a nightly movie during the ski season. Though you shouldn't need it, Mountain Lodge is the only building on the mountain with on-site maintenance.

Snowshoe Resort is a year-round vacation resort. In the winter you and your party can enjoy 60 different ski slopes, two terrain parks, tubing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. After the slopes close you can stroll through the Village's restaurants, shops, kids’ entertainment zone, nightclub, and more.
In the summer you can plan on a significantly cooler climate in the mountains where you can hike, mountain bike, fish, paddle-boat, shoot sporting clays, or golf at Raven Golf Course, the #1 public access course in WV. Year-round you can sightsee, swim, see live theater, or take a scenic ride on a historic train.
Owner Location Comment
I generally make it up to the condo once or twice a year to fix it up, meet with management and homeowners, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery and ski. This means you have a personally vested owner who cares about the property and your experience. I found Snowshoe in 2004 and knew right away I wanted to have a home-away-from-home there. I want you to enjoy Snowshoe as much as my family does.
Here are a few tips for while you're there. It's very remote, so fuel up the car when you can during the drive and be prepared for slick mountain roads. The resort is at the top of the mountain, not the bottom. If you have a rear-wheel drive vehicle with no snow tires, you should at least bring tire chains. Once you're there, you shouldn't need to drive. There's a general store and everything else you need within walking distance. But getting there and leaving can be difficult without the right equipment. There is very little cell phone or radio coverage on the mountain and within about a 2 hour drive radius. AT&T has spotty coverage, and I'm told they're the only ones. There's a National Radio Observatory nearby that restricts radio wave transmissions. It's also a tourist attraction. Bottom line, don't plan on being able to use your cell phones within a 2 hour radius of Snowshoe. We're planning to put some hand held 2-way radios in the condo, as per one guest's recommendation, but they're not there yet.
I'll be happy to tell you plenty more about Snowshoe if you're a guest of mine, or even if you're just inquiring. I hope to see your name in our guest book in the future!
