Vacation Rental Description
Imagine a cottage so beautiful that you feel like you have found a little slice of heaven. Now add in a grove of magnificent cedars as your landscape. For sounds only the occasional screech of an eagle as it sours high over head or perhaps the soothing rustle of the wind through the cedars. Your next door neighbor is a 150 acre park with walking trails leading down to one mile of secluded pacific beach. Impossible you say! Check out the pictures. For 2010, we have just finished the addition to our magical gingerbread cottage. We have added a new solarium downstairs and a deck upstairs as well as a beautiful gas fireplace to make the winter nights into a cozy intimate delight.
The Lily Point Park Cottage has been called the ultimate couples getaway. Nestled in a private wooded setting, the cottage is a dream come true for an intimate and serene holiday. You are secluded to the point that the only sounds you will hear are the wind and the birds. Yet you are five minutes to 'downtown' Point Roberts, a quaint village with several shops and a well stocked Market with plenty of inexpensive wine and beer. A short 45 minutes away is the awesome beauty and excitement of Vancouver BC. Be sure to click on the link to our website (at the bottom of this page) which shows in great detail the cottage and the area.
Outdoors is the incredible '4 points' experience. Incredibly, all four corners of Point Roberts are state parks. Each one is totally different. At Lighthouse Park you can feel the breeze from the Georgia Strait and whale watch. At Monument Park you can take the incredible new trail to the beach. At Lily Point Park you can walk the trails in the 150 acre wood and wander on one mile of secluded ocean beach and at Boundary Bay (Maple Beach) you can walk the miles of sand bars. All points are no more that 10 minutes drive from each other. Rain or Shine you can have a refreshing natural experience and then retreat to your own private cottage to rest, relax and recharge.
Lily Point Park Cottage is located in a grove of cedars on Lily Point, at the south east tip of Point Roberts. The eastern boundary of the cottage is Lily Point Park. This is a new state park of approximately 150 acres that contains some really beautiful hiking trails and an amazing mountain bike trail. You can follow these trails to your own private mile of Pacific beach. The quiet and tranquility will delight and envelope you. Yet, you are close to so many diversions.
The nearby Point Roberts golf course was rated one of the 10 best new courses in the USA or indulge in a delicious latte and desert at Café Cabana. For hard core local color, there is the Reef tavern and South Beach House restaurant offers excellent fare and a great view of the ocean.
The Lily Point Park Cottage is pure charm with antique windows, hardwood floors and lots of wood paneling. In the summer you can swim in the ocean on the sand bars. When the tides are right int he summer the water is 70 to 80 degrees. It does not get any more healthy than that.

I have tried to explain how wonderful the experience is at the Lodge at LiilyPoint but then I realized that the best explanations can be found in our guest book.
"This morning woke to a symphony of rain on the roof and window panes. We're all cozy inside this sweet cottage with its Scandinavian simplicity. It's built so thoughtfully with tile along the diminutive staircase, wood framed french doors and bay windows all of which maximize the light and create a cheery little 'boat like' cottage in a sea of ferns. Lovely indeed! And to this experience.add miles of woods and bluff trails leading to a long ocean beach flecked with the white shell bits of ancient kitchen midden sites. It's no wonder this place feels welcoming. This peninsula whose thumb pokes into Boundary Bay has been inhabited for 1000's of years. Thank you for this restorative stay. "
