Vacation Rental Description
Welcome to His cabin! Frank was in charge of "fixing up" and enlarging the cabin he bought twenty-one years ago. The cabin is approximately 850 square feet with one bedroom with a double bed, a second sleeping area with two twin futons, and a compact kitchen equipped for simple vacation cooking; the dining table seats four. Just bring your favorite food, favorite books, and get ready to relax!
And while you are relaxing on the deck, keep an eye out for bald and golden eagles, hawks, and heron. Deer, rabbits, and quail are also frequent visitors. You'll enjoy walks on the beach and may even see a sea otter family. The sunsets are spectacular, silhouetting Whidbey Island, Hope Island, the tiny Tonkon Islands, and the majestic Olympic Mountain range. And, best of all, it’s only eighty miles from Seattle.
Make it your headquarters for exploring the northwest corner of the United States, the San Juan Islands, and even Victoria and Vancouver, BC. It's just ten minutes from picturesque La Conner, Washington, and is perfect for singles, couples, or small families.
LaConner and Anacortes have wonderful restaurants, and we'll happily share our favorites with you.
Traveling with friends or looking for a place for a family reunion? Consider this cabin and the cabin next door, Holiday Home #34753 on this website, and you will have two decks, two kitchens, two bathrooms, beds and futons for twelve, and a large grassy area for games. Ask about two-cabin rates.
This has been a family gathering place where our children and grandchildren – from little ones to teenagers - love to come!

La Conner is a small village and arts community on the Swinomish Channel with art galleries, artists, quaint specialty shops, restaurants, and museums for shopping, dining and exploring.
It is home to three museums. The Museum of Northwest Art features regional art, including internationally renowned artists Mark Tobey, Morris Graves, Guy Anderson, and Kenneth Callahan. Next is The La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum housed a 1891 mansion and features three stories of quilts and textiles, traditional to contemporary, focusing on works from the Northwest. Finally, take the children to see the delightful Skagit County Historical Museum for a peek at how the local pioneers lived.
Activities
- Mountain Biking
- Restaurant
Our cabin is a perfect "home base" for bicycling, birding, hiking, and kayaking. La Conner's specialty shops, restaurants, day spas, artists' studios, museums, art galleries, and even whale watching are sure to tempt you.
Check out the 360 degree views from Mount Erie. Anacortes ferries can take you to the San Juan Islands and British Columbia. Don't miss Bellingham's Fairhaven District, and be sure to take scenic Chuckanut Drive.
Deception Pass is nature at its powerful best; walk across the bridge to see the treacherous waters below. Deception Pass State Park offers hiking, beachcombing, and even mountain biking. Continue south on Whidbey Island and check out the villages of Coupville and Langley.
Glenna's favorite, however, is simply getting lost on the country roads in the fertile farmland of the beautiful Skagit Valley. Be sure to stop at the farm stands and bring home just picked fruit and vegetables as well as other specialties of the area.
