3 Bedroom Lodge in Claytor Lake

Welcome to the Little Riveria Lodge at Snowville, VA. The Lodge is a three bedroom/two bath fully furnished and equipped house located in the beautiful New River Valley of Southwestern Virginia. The New River Valley is the home to two major universities; Radford University, Radford Virginia and Virginia Tech, Blacksburg Virginia. The area is surrounded by natural beauty and offers numerous outdoor, family-oriented activities. 
The original riverside structure was built in circa 1853 as a store with a residence upstairs. Over the years, the building has served as a store, as a local high school, and as a movie theater before eventually being converted for use as a residence. The Lodge was built in what was the heart of 19th century Snowville industrial center. Still visible on the property is the remains of the mill race that provided the power for a huge mill and foundry which were located in the side and back yard. The foundation of the mill and the remains of the foundry are still visible. The Lodge was listed in the Virginia List of Landmarks on December 17, 1985 and in the National Register of Historic Places on January 7, 1987 as part of the Snowville Historic District.  
 
House Rental Amenities: 
The 2515 square foot Lodge is furnished with queen beds in each of the three bedrooms plus 2 queen sleeper sofas. The parlor is furnished with a 1850's antique parlor set and a baby grand piano. The combination dining room and family room has a farmer's table, wood burning stove, couch/chairs a 10 ft church pew and Satellite TV/DVD. The downstairs’ bath features a cast iron, claw foot tub and the upstairs’ bath has a shower. The kitchen has a stove/refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, cookware, dishes, and flatware. Also included are washer/dryer, iron/ironing board and hair dryer. Linens and towels are provided as is a propane grill.  
 
Area Activities and Attractions:  
The back yard is bordered by 350 feet of frontage on the Little River, a clean, scenic river that drains 400 square miles of the northwestern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains before joining the New River near Claytor Lake. The river is pristine, beautiful, and great for swimming/canoeing/tubing and the fishing is great! Plus, the guests at the Lodge have hunting rights (in season) on 76 acres of private land. The Lodge is next-door to numerous attractions: Claytor Lake, a large recreational lake; the university towns of Radford University and Virginia Tech University; the Blue Ridge Parkway; the New River Trail State Park; the Claytor Lake State park; numerous venues on Virginia's Heritage Music Trail; wineries and hiking/biking opportunities. 
 
 

The Lodge has 300 feet of river frontage on the Little River. The Little is a beautiful and pristine river that drains a 400 square mile area of the Northwestern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Along the river, in the backyard of the Lodge are a beach, bonfire area, and outdoors seating for a large group. Attached to the rear of the Lodge is a large deck overlooking the river and rear yard. The deck is equipped with a propane grill, table/umbrella and deck chairs.
