Watch ducks and geese fly in. Birding on Eastern Shore is nothing short of fantastic. The region is an important resting and breeding stop along the Atlantic Flyway for countless birds, with more bird sightings recorded here than anywhere else in the state.
There's fun for the whole family at a swimming beach with beach bath-house located at Kiptopeke State Park - which is three blocks north of the Chesapeake Bay bridge, plus swimming at the public beach at Cape Charles.

Ten minutes north of the house, visit Cape Charles which is experiencing a revitalization and where every street heading west will take you to the public beach and the Chesapeake Bay. Travelling further north, in 75 minutes you can be on famous Chincoteague Island or cross the bridge to Assateague Island and visit the Wildlife Refuge and the beaches on the Atlantic Ocean. Travel southward and in 45 minutes, including a ride over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, you will have easy access to Virginia Beach, historic Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown and all that Norfolk has to offer.
