Vacation Rental Description
The wife and I are going to continue renting our lake house as a vacation rental. We are in the rental property business but the real estate business is challenging these days. When it is not rented as a vacation rental, our 3 kids (ages 22, 24, 25) and their friends hang out there.
Our lake house is located 3.2 Miles from the Bristol NASCAR track and it sleeps 6. It is small Chalet at 700 square feet, but it is located 30' from the water's edge. It is dreamy. It is very comfortable with Heat Pump Central Heat & Air and it had a $28,000 remodel just two years ago.
Here's a list of our lake house features:
· 2 bedrooms with full size beds
· one full bathroom and a second outdoor shower
· Heat Pump Central Heat and Air
· wireless internet access
· $700 Stainless Steel propane gas grill with infared burner
· outdoor fire pit that is stocked with firewood
· full size kitchen with two refrigerators, dishwasher, electric stove, etc.
· Kegerator (wooooohoooooo! )
· canoe and kayak; a selection of 26 life jackets
· 2005 Polaris Jet Ski
· covered boat slip with a 24' pontoon boat that seats 14 people.
· a non-smoking home. Smoking is allowed on covered, outdoor deck.
· 3 decks
We have a jet ski that you can use. It has an hour meters on it and we rent it for $35/hr. This is $35 for one hour of drive time, not one hour of possession like many folks charge. You take possession of it with a full tank of gasoline and two-cycle oil and return it that way at the end of the week.
We also have a 24' pontoon boat that you can use. It has a 90 HP outboard Johnson Motor and a 20 gallon gas tank. It rents for $35/hr. We keep track of the hours with the on board, digital hour meter.
I've included a picture of my Brother-in-Law and myself fishing last April. Boone Lake is famous for its hybrid, striped bass. The record hybrid, striped bass is 42 pounds. These special hybrid bass grow 3 lbs every year. There's lots of these 10-pound size. Because of the cold winter water, these hybrid striped bass almost hibernate as their metabolism is reduced to nothing. The last of March and the first two weeks of April is the best time to fish for these because they are waking up with the warming water and they are hungry. We usually catch our daily limit of two in less than one hour. We have our best luck with a simple, shiny 3" silver spoon and trolling at a depth of 15' at 3 mph.
The wife and I live only 12 miles away in Johnson City and will be around to help you utilize all the lake house features. We will serve as your hosts and make your vacation the best.
