Owner Location Comment
The McKenzie River is the crown jewel of the cascade mountains. If you want to visit the pacific northwest or the cascades, this place is a must stop. World class fishing, home of the Internationally famous McKenzie River Trail (America's #1 mountain bike trail), white water rafting, 3 scenic hwys, too many lakes streams and rivers to name, 3 killer waterfalls and dozens of smaller ones, and a handful of hot springs.
One scenic hwy takes you over the McKenzie Pass to the upper valley of the 3 Sisters Mountain and features an un-earthly landscape dominated by massive lava flows. What looks like a prehistoric castle turret built from lava rock is Dee Wright observatory. Easily accessible, it provides great views of this expansive lava and surrounding mountain peaks.
