Live theatre and auctions during the season. During the wintertime (weather permitting) you can enjoy snow tubing in nearby Scaly Mountain.
One mile down Hwy. 106 is the Blue Valley Overlook, 1 mile towards town is Glen Falls with hiking trails. Sunset Rock is 3-1/2 miles from the Stencil House where you can get a birds-eye-view of Highlands. Dry Falls, so named because you can actually walk under the falls is approximately 6 miles from the home.
