This quaint log cabin was built out of 150 year old logs. We are nestled in the woods for privacy but yet in walking distance to the river where you can enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking, or swimming! River’s Rest is conveniently located on the North Fork of the New River in Ashe County, NC.

River's Rest is a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin and it is just what you've been looking for. The living room is very cozy with a wood burning fireplace during those cold mountain nights. PLUS there are 2 window air condition units at the cabin during those warm summer months.

The queen bedroom is upstairs in the tastefully decorated loft area along with 2 other twin beds. The couch in the living room is also a queen size sleeper sofa for extra sleeping space. The full bathroom is on the main level along with the fully stocked kitchen. If you like cooking out doors, then you will enjoy the nice gas grill. Perfect for grilling your catch of the day, steaks, burgers, or hot dogs.

Enjoy sitting on the rocking chair front porch overlooking the river listening to the sounds of nature which also has a porch swing. Roast marshmallows or wieners around the fire pit near the river. It's the perfect way to end the evening after a fun filled day!

At River's Rest , we believe that nobody should be left behind. We will allow you to bring your four-legged family member, under 40 pounds, with you for a one time nonrefundable pet fee of $50 per pet. Isn't it wonderful that for once you won't have to wonder how your best friend is doing in the kennel "back home?"

Anytime during the year is a great time to visit. The colors in the fall are spectacular. Play in the snow during the winter with the ski resorts not far away (within 1 hour from Appalachian Ski Mountain). Spring is perfect with many beautiful flowers blooming. The summer is loaded with things to do in the local area.

There is a 2 night minimum for off peak seasons and a 3 night minimum for holidays and the entire month of October. Check in time is 4:00pm or after and check out time is 11:00am.

NO SMOKING is allowed inside of our cabins!

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
