When looking for an outdoor adventure, Western North Carolina has a large number of options such as tubing, whitewater rafting and kayaking, and hiking trails. The home is also only minutes away from Chimney Rock State Park and Lake Lure, which was ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. Also located nearby is Pisgah National Forest, which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, featuring hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. It is near several excellent golf courses, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which is rated by Golf Digest as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.
