The Red House River Cabin is located across from the Special Regulations section of the famous West Branch. Access 1 minute walk; numerous others including boat launches with 5 miles; fish all week and never be more than a few miles from house if you wish. 12 miles to the Junction Pool where the East and West Branches form the Main Stem. Three golf courses from 6 to 20 miles away; skiing within 30 miles; hiking, fishing, relaxing at Oquaga State Park. Prime hunting in NY and the State Game Lands in PA. This is also considered the gateway to the Catskills where outdoor adventures abound! You can choose to do everything or nothing at all! Several spas in NY and PA within 30 miles. 
 
Fishing the Upper Delaware: The Upper Delaware is some of the best dry fly fishing in the East. Serious hatches begin in April with the Hendrickson, Quills, and evolve into the hatches of March Browns and Sulphurs in May. The last few years I have fished sulfur patterns from May until September. Of course, you can always count on various doses of caddis and blue winged olives throughout the season and of course the mysterious tricos on misty summer mornings. There are plenty of riffles and braids to try your favorite nymphs as well. When the water is a little higher, don't be afraid the bang the banks with big streamers whether you are wading or in a boat. The River Cabin is across from the Gentleman's Pool access, canoes can be launched here too. Stilesville and Indian Country drift boat launches are each within about two miles. 
 
Other Activities: Golf, skiing, hunting, and general outdoor pursuits are all within short driving distances. Oquaga State Park is within 6 miles and includes a beach, golf, hiking, and fishing. Other golf courses include the Hancock Golf Course and French Woods about 14 and 20 miles respectively. Elk Mountain skiing is 34 miles, Hunter and Windham are each about 95 miles. As the gateway to the Catskill Mountains and Delaware River Valley you are in the perfect area to explore small towns, hike mountains, and simply get lost! There are several spas in PA and NYS within 30 to 40 miles. Be sure to look for the nesting bald eagles across the street!

We will do our best to put you on the right flies, recommend the right restaurant, and give the best directions we can to make your stay enjoyable. If you are here to fly-fish, imagine fishing for a couple of hours in the morning and then taking in nine holes of golf and still be back on the river in time for the evening hatch! If you don't fish, come and enjoy the peace and quiet and what nature has to offer all in the comfort of a 1500 square foot home away from home.
