Vacation Rental Description

This newly renovated, turn-of-the-century, federal home has a great, in-town location in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The entire first and second floors have been refurbished including refinishing of the original hardwood floors, new wall treatments, modernized bathrooms, new electrical and lighting, new central heating/air conditioning, central vacuum, and more.

An addition has been added providing a large (15-feet by 30-feet) modern kitchen and eating/lounging area. The kitchen includes new appliances, full and extensive granite counters, custom hardwood cabinets, and maple flooring.

The remainder of the first floor includes a formal dining room, sunroom, and living room with fireplace. The entrance foyer opens into a central open area that contains a beautiful stairway to a similarly open central area on the second floor. The bedrooms, including one with a fireplace, are located on the second floor along with a full bath.

Beyond this there is a neat and cozy TV, lounge, and play area located in the basement. This 18-foot by 25-foot area constitutes very comfortable space with new carpeting, built-in bookcases, natural stonewalls, large leather sofa, and more. The basement contains a new bathroom and laundry as well.

This home is within an easy walk (five minutes) to historic downtown Portsmouth with its numerous shops, sidewalk cafes, and restaurants. Prescott Park, home of outdoor summer theater and other shows, and the Strawberry Banke historic site are just down the street, as is the Children's Museum. The active seaport, complete with picturesque tugboats, lobster and fishing boats, numerous restaurants, and festive watering holes built on piers over the water, is a favorite area for residents and tourists alike. All of this is within a leisurely stroll of this centrally located home.

Portsmouth was settled in 1623 and is the nations third-oldest city. The city was a major seaport well into the late 1800's. The location, history, and cultural strength of the area make Portsmouth a frequently cited - best place to live - city.

The city boasts far more than its share of a diverse selection of fine restaurants as well as other amenities. It is a popular tourist attraction, both day and night, during all seasons. It is a place where you are pulled to enjoy fine dining, theater, and stroll the streets. You will enjoy checking out the waterfront with its tugboats and commercial fishing pier as well as visiting the many shops day or evening. A favorite evening pastime is music at one of the local lounges or coffee at a sidewalk cafe in the beautiful town square.

If you chose to use your vehicle there are a number of attractions nearby including several ocean beaches and parks, water parks, golf courses, movie theaters, and more. Popular outlet malls are located just five miles away in Kittery, Maine.

The recent renovation resulted maintained the historic charm with the fine crafted woodwork throughout while at the same time modernizing all features of the home. Including the modern kitchen with all the amenities including hardwood cabinets, granite counter tops.

Low Season Price : $2500
High Season Price : $2500 per Week


One half the rent is due at the time of the booking. The remaining rent and damage deposit are due 30 days prior to the rental date. The deposit is returned within two weeks after the end of the rental period. If cancellation is necessary, a full refund will be provided, provided the rental period can be filled by another tenant.
