Murphy's Retreat is a lovely, 3 bedroom home overlooking the Meramec river. One upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a day bed. The other two bedrooms have double beds and there is a twin sleeper sofa in the living room offering total sleeping space for 8. The recently finished basement has a queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa to up the sleeping space to 12, as well as a full bath. Around the limestone fireplace in the living is a great place to gather. The screened in porch has a great view of the river and is my favorite place to sip my morning coffee. The pavilion by the water is equipped with a hanging fireplace for warming yourself up or roasting hotdogs. BBQ pits are provided for your use. We offer floating on the river and activities with horses, such as trail rides and lessons. Peaceful Bend winery is located just across Highway T and is a wonderful place to relax and taste some of their fantastic wine. They often have live music in their wine garden on warm season weekends. A couple of other great places to enjoy good music in the area are the Steelville Music Show and Wildwood Springs Lodge. Both offer various types of concerts. We are only 10 miles from Meremac Springs trout park if trout fishing is your thing.
