Main Description
Vacation house is located on the edge of the quiet little river town of Waddington. Originally a farming community, with the advent of the St.Lawrence Seaway, it has become a small resort village. The lock system and dam that were built as part of the Seaway project in the late 1950's, resulted in the flooding of property along the great St.Lawrence river. Farm land was lost, but waterways were gained, as small brooks emptying into the St.Lawrence have now become much larger estuaries, and provide canoers and kayakers with ample scenic waterways to explore. During the creation of the St.Lawrence Seaway, a lot of land along the river was purchased by the N.Y.State Power Authority. This state land is now used for recreation by picnicers and boaters who live in or visit the Waddington area. There are 2 public boat launches and 3 public parks in Waddington, as well as Coles Creek State Park.
St. Lawrence River Cruises offers boat trips seasonally from May thru the first of October. There are restaurants and a small grocery store and gas stations in Waddington, and nearby in Massena and Ogdensburg, there is more shopping and night life available. Less than 30 miles away, the Akwesasne Indian reservation has several casinos for those of you who like to try your luck. Daytrippers may wish to visit the famous Adirondack mountains as well. Waddington is one of the best kept secrets of the 1000 Island region. Long enjoyed by the locals, come see for yourself all this quaint village has to offer. We're sure you'll want to come again!

50% deposit required; To receive a full refund of deposit, cancellation notice must be given within 2 weeks of a reservation made for one week or less. For reservations made for more than two weeks stay, 30 days notice must be given. Rental payments and deposits may be paid by cash, check, or charge(VISA or MASTERCARD).
