Follow a lovely path through the woods to a spectacular setting on Beautiful Elk Lake, 14 miles from Traverse City. We have 8 acres and 650 feet of lake frontage with a nice lawn and beach area where you can enjoy swimming, boating, playing volleyball, or just relaxing at the beach. The 80 foot dock is perfect for sunning, picnicking, or watching the kids swim at the sand bar. In the evening the reflected sunsets, stars, and sometimes fireworks or northern lights can be enjoyed from either the shore next to the fire or out on the dock.

The comfortable 2 bedroom, single bath log house is freshly stained and painted, extremely clean, and very convenient with a newly remodeled, well equipped kitchen. The kitchen has all the usual features; laundry, dish washer, garbage disposal, large gas stove with oven, microwave, refrigerator, and a view of the lake. There is cental heating, air conditioning, gas logs in a large stone fireplace, WiFi, cable TV, and a comfortable living room. One bedroom has a queen size bed, the other has two twin beds, and the living room has a queen size sofa -- all are a year old and of very high quality for your sleeping comfort.

We are two miles from a public boat launch and Elk Lake is part of the Antrim County chain of lakes, consisting of Elk, Skegemog, Torch, and Clam lakes flowing into Grand Traverse Bay. The chain offers 45 miles of inland boating through the lakes and four rivers.

Turtle Creek Casino is 5 miles away and the Horse Show by the Bay is 6 miles from the house. Traverse City is 14 miles away with all the amenities of a toursit oriented city - with many shopping, eating and entertainment offerings as well as more scenic areas to explore. There are restaurants much closer to the house, for convenient dining when you wish to go out rather than use the modern kitchen in the house.

We require a $500 USD deposit to hold the reservation and as a damage and cleaning deposit during your stay. Upon your arrival, we collect the rental cost and then, if there is no damage or unusual cleaning requirements when you leave, we return your deposit in a few days.

In case of cancellation, we try to rent the house, and return your deposit if we are successful. Since we have a rather short season in the summer and during ski season, we need a couple of months notice to find replacement guests.
