Vacation Rental Description
Surrounded by a private acre of beech trees, this charming gambrel cape is very private and set well back from the road. Completely renovated in 2006, the house is decorated with Vermont and Maine handmade beds, Claire Murray hand-hooked area rugs, and handmade quilts. Downstairs is a front-to-back fireplaced livingroom, large kitchen, eating area with room for 10, and full bath. Upstairs are four bedrooms and a second full bath. There are hardwood floors throughout the house, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms.

Walking to the beach means carefree living, where everyone can come and go as they wish. Its a 5-minute walk to the Lambert's Cove Beach parking lot, a resident's only private beach with miles of untouched sand dunes. This beach has fine sand and silver dollar shells. Because it is open to West Tisbury residents and tenants only, it is never crowded. Sunsets on this beach are the best on the island.

On cooler days, Seth’s Pond (the Island’s largest fresh water swimming pond) is also a 5-minute walk. Nearby is Manaquayak Preserve, a clear, deep kettle pond. Created by glaciers, this pristine pond is one of the Land Bank's newest acquisitions.

    • There are two decks, one off the kitchen and a second off the livingroom. There is an outdoor dining room set and porch furniture for eating and relaxing outdoors. The house has a large library of reading books, DVDs, videos and games for both adults and kids, available for your use. There is cable TV with DVD/VHS in the livingroom, and TV/DVD's in three of the bedrooms. There is a ping pong table in the basement and 5 bicycles available for your use. The kitchen is fully equipped with a coffee-maker, toaster, waffle maker, blender, and a full set of pots and pans.

    • In addition to numerous sandy beaches, there are many places to visit on the island. Chicama Vineyard offers tours and wine-tasting, Oak Bluffs is home to the famous gingerbread cottages painted in bright colors and decorated with flowers, there are naturalist guided kayak tours, and over 50 public Land Bank properties to explore.

    $300 is due at time of reserving the week, and the balance is due 30 days prior to your arrival. There is a $100 cleaning fee, and we ask for a $300 security deposit which is refunded within 10 days of your departure.
