Cape Cod is known for its ocean beaches, where one can surf, wind surf, parasail, boogie board, kayak, sail, and fish. Many will delight in fresh water sport as well, as there are many ponds and lakes on the Cape. There is a full gym with indoor pool in Hyannis, 10 minutes away. During the summer there is live theatre at The Cape Playhouse in Dennis, minutes by car. Hyannis and Provincetown have plenty of night life. Taste fresh seafood (or other delightful multi-ethnic cuisine) at hundreds of restaurants. Visit one of two vineyards on Cape Cod. At last count there were approximately 20 public or semi-private golf courses listed on Cape Cod--the closest, Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course, is one mile away.
Historic Boston is an hour and a half drive away; New York is about 4 hours, for a jaunt into the city. The bus service to either city is excellent if you wanted to leave the car behind.
