7 mile beach is a short walk away and you can take quiet streets, enjoying the village charm (approx 900 feet).  
 
Relax on the deck that is set on a peaceful street that is home for some historic cottages dating back to the 1800's. tidal marsh view at high tide right from the 2nd floor balcony Tucked away on a quiet street, away from all the crazy traffic, yet close to the beach.  
 
Large 3 season dining room added in 2010 that seats 6. This room also has tv/dvd, so you can sit and play card games etc in the evening with ESPN or movies in the background. 
 
The beach remains uncrowded all season with plenty of room for relaxing or building sand castles.  
 
Find treasures like sea glass, starfish and sand dollars. You may even see a harbor seal.  
 
A short walking distance from the beach will bring you to a mile long rock jetty for fishing and sunset pictures. In the Village of Camp Ellis there are 2 restaurants (1 year round), and 2 gift shops.  
 
A 2 minute walk to the General Store where you can buy fresh lobsters and have them cooked for you right there, or go in and eat breakfast on the restaurant side. 
 
Leave the dock on whale watch, go deep sea fishing. Rent kayaks for the day on the Saco River. Local general store has fresh daily lobster and will steam it for you.  
 
3 min drive to Old Orchard Beach that has shops and an amusement park. 10-12 minute drive to 2 theme parks such as FunTown/SplashTown. Drive-in movie theater, daily flea market, shops and restaurants. Check in is Saturday afternoon to following Saturday morning 
 
Fully equipped kitchen makes meals easy to prepare, cook and clean. 3 spacious bedrooms upstairs with pillow-top mattresses on queen beds. There are 2 queen beds, 1 bunk bed. all with color tv/cable/dvd Licensed w/ State of Maine

5 tv's with dvd's. One in the living room, one in each bedroom and 1 in large dining room. Picnic table and grill in the back yard. Small dogs allowed with an additional $50.00 deposit (much cheaper than kennel). No cats due to life threatening allergy. If looking at other cottages and you have a dog, ask if they have a yard so your dog can do their "business" without having to walk around. Some cottages in Camp Ellis have "NO" yard.

Old Orchard Beach is 3 miles away. They have an amusement part right on the beach during summer season. Fun Town/Splash town is located in Saco as well and only about 7 miles away. The 2nd oldest Drive-In in the USA is in Saco and about 7 miles away. Check out a flea market located in town as well. Antique stores, other theme parks.

Saco Maine is the location of the beginning of the longest beach in Maine, Camp Ellis.

Saco has several water/amusement theme parks, a drive in, golf course, movie theater, antique stores and so much more.

When you get down to Camp Ellis, you have stepped a bit back into the past. Many cottages still exist from the 1890s. 2 restaurants are within walking distance.

Camp Ellis also has a General Store, small gift shops, places to buy lobster fresh off the boats and a pier with boats leaving on various excursions. You can even rent a kayak right at the end of Camp Ellis Ave.

All of this is located only 20 minutes from downtown Portland Maine.
