Vacation Rental Description
The island is small, rural and close to Portland. A pick up truck is available on the island by request. Bicycle loans are available on Chebeague. Car ferry survice is available by reservation on the Casco Bay Ferry line from Portland.
Chebeague Island offers a ocean activities: sailing, fishing, clamming, biking, beaches, bike riding. There is a convenience grocery store, Public library with book, movie, music and game loans, a community center with outdoor swimming, exercise room, outdoor tennis, and a Historical Society Museum as well as smaller gift shops/thrift shop. The Chebeague Island Inn offers dining as well as rooms. The Clam Shack offers take out food and ice cream. The Niblic at the Boat yard offers gifts, wine/beer, and coffee shop fare. The Post Office, moorings and gas are located at the Boat Yard. Whole Foods grocery delivers food to the island to the Casco Bay ferry dock with on line orders made a day before for a very low cost.

- Travel Info: By air: Portland, Maine. Rent a car. Drive North to Exit 9 off of Rt. 295. Drive North 4.5 miles along Rt 1 to the Chebeague Island Parking Lot and park. There is a fee to park. Load your belongings, groceries, bikes into the CTC Ferry bus (Chebeague Transportation Company). The bus and ferry times can be viewed on line at www. ChebeagueTransportationCompany.com. The bus will take you to the ferry. Unload your belongings onto the lower dock and leave them for ferry hands to load onto ferry. (you will unload them yourself on Chebeague). The ferry ride is 15 minutes.
