Sit in the hot tub on the covered porch and watch the sailboats and lobster boats float by. You may even see a lobsterman hauling his traps right in front of the cottage while you drink your morning coffee. With sloping lawn to the water's edge, the cottage is situated approximately 250ft from the shore of beautiful Somes Sound, the only natural fjord on the east coast. Extensive granite stonework, including a patio, rock walls, granite steps and pathways, complement the dramatic changes in landscape from mountain to ocean. A fire pit (firewood provided)near the shore is just one more way to enjoy all this cottage has to offer. Located on the 'quiet side' of Mount Desert Island, the cottage is still within minutes of all that the island has to offer.
