About the Back 2 Basics Cabins 
Our fully furnished cabins each sleep 2-6 people comfortably and are for rent on a nightly or weekly basis . They have a view on the lake and are within a short walk of each other on 42 acres of manicured lawns and gardens. Our cabins each have a fully stocked kitchen, private bath, private bedroom with a queen bed, a loft with a queen bed, and a pullout couch. Each cabin has a tv with DVD, CD player, table for four inside and a picnic table on the back deck.     • Back 2 Basis is an excellent vacation destination for any time of the year and any day of the week, for couples, families, and groups alike! We are adjacent to the Shawnee National Forest and near to Giant City State Park, Little Grassy Lake, Devils Kitchen Recreation Area, and much more nature and wildlife. We are located along the Shawnee Wine Trail, minutes from top wineries and dining. You can go fishing, horseback riding, rock climbing, bike riding, visit the Makanda Boardwalk, and more. We are just off Interstate 57, a half hour driving from Carbondale and SIU, and within 3.5 hours or less from St. Louis, Memphis, Paducah, Springfield, and Champaign.

Activities in the Shawnee National Forest: hunting, fishing,pedestrian/equestrian trails (i.e.River-to-River Trail), beach recreation, bird watching, rock-climbing/rappelling...Golf at the Crab Orchard Golf Club, an 18 hole facility.Swimming at Cedar Lake: Public beaches throughout the region provide relief from the heat, plus sand and scenery lacking at concrete municipal pools. Lamb and wool products at the Walton Farm in Anna an historic 1860s farm.Hunt for deer, turkey, pheasant, and more.Fishing: Bluegill, Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Walleye and Musky, Rainbow Trout...

    Rates valid until Marsh 31st, 2009. Maximum 6 persons/per cabin. Add $10 per person per night over 4 occupants, or $35 per person for the week. Kids 3 and under stay free. Additional Terms Cabins must be booked for 2 nights minimum but a one night may be available due to scheduling. SEASONAL ROOM RATES (DEC.1, 2008 - DEC.22, 2008) : STAY 1 (ONE) NIGHT AND GET 50% OFF THE NEXT. You can only pay with a personal check as long as we receive it a minimum of 14 days prior to your reservation date. Either payment method you choose, you must have a valid Visa, Master Card or American Express card to make your reservation (no debit cards please). Prices do not include local and state taxes. Prices and minimum stay vary according to season. $75 deposit required at booking Holidays = Weekend Rates
