Vacation Rental Description
The log house sits in the middle of seven and a half acres up the hill from Turner Bay on the east side of Lake Coeur d’Alene. It’s the perfect place to get away from the world. You can’t see any neighbors. Reading and visiting on the front porch is a great way to start the day. There are plenty of comfy chairs and a two person porch swing. Hiking, biking, picnicking, and camping are good right out the front door. There is a public dock at Turner Bay that is a two and a half minute drive down the hill. It’s a good place to fish and swim and is usually deserted during the week.
The next bay down the lake, that is big enough to have a name, is Carlin Bay. The Carlin Bay Resort is a six minute drive from Turner Bay. It has a bar and a restaurant, a nice little beach area, and a boat launch ramp. We have a boat slip there also. If you have your own boat, you can use our slip when you are renting the log house for an extra $100 per week. The Carlin Bay Resort is a great place to start exploring the lake by boat.
Twenty five minutes on down Hwy 97 from the log house is the village of Harrison. It’s a fun little town to explore. It is a great place for boating and bicycling. You can rent whatever you need-motor boats, canoes, kayaks, bicycles, etc. The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes goes right through Harrison. It is a nice place to spend an afternoon. It is like going back in time. The south end of the lake isn’t busy like up around Cd’A.
Getting to and from the log house might be the best part of the whole deal. You come and go on Hwy 97, which is also called Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic Biway. Lots of great lake views. Click the link to our new website at the bottom of this page for more pictures, information, and more recreation suggestions with plenty of links. The log house works great for a home base for your activities.
Here is a note we just found from our last guests: "What a perfect getaway! It was such a nice break, with beautiful morning views of Coeur d’Alene Lake and quiet nights around the fire...Thanks for a peaceful & restful weekend away, we look forward to our next stay at the “home away from home.” Best, The Johnson’s, Will, Pam, and Lindsay" Please click on the link below to access the Log House website and read more reviews.

Wallace, Idaho, is a very unique town to visit. It's a little over an hour away from the Log House. Wallace has long been known as the Silver Capital of the World. Every building in the downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places. It has several interesting museums, not the least of which is the Oasis Bordello Museum.
This area is golf course heaven six months out of the year. There are many quality courses less than an hour from the Log House.
