Ramashala is a unique, serene location that offers an experience closer to "old Hawaii" compared to the hustle and bustle of Oahu or Maui. There are 7 separate living spaces available: 3 single rooms with shared bath, 2 units with full kitchens/baths and 2 units with baths and small refrigerators. Guests rent individual units and some groups rent the whole facility for retreats, weddings, family reunions etc.

Ramashala is located 200 meters from Kehena Beach and 6 km from the south ocean edge of Volcano National Park where one can walk in 15 minutes to view the lava flow entering the ocean.

Kehena Beach is famous for frequent visits by spinner dolphins, occasional sea turtles, and seasonal Humpback whales. The pristine Kehena Black Sand Beach was formed from 1955 lava flow from the most active volcano in the world.

Kehena Beach area is a 35 minute drive from Hilo International Airport. Exotic tropical fruits, organically grown vegetables, or fresh seafood are available at Farmer's Markets both on Hilo Bayfront and near Pahoa several days a week.

Historic Pahoa Village is 15 minutes away where you can savor Thai, Mexican, or Italian cuisine or visit the Natural Foods store or many boutiques.

There are many sites of interest including the unique Ahalanui geothermally heated pond only 15 minutes down the scenic road from Ramashala. Hawaii's #1 attraction, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park visitor's center is less than an hour's drive from Ramashala.

Description of rooms: Ramashala: King bed, private deck, full kitchen, and bath. Usually $150/day Downstairs is a separate yoga/exercise studio. Ramashala A: Queen bed, bath, small refrigerator. Usually $125/day Ramashala B: Queen bed, bath, small refrigerator. “ Ramashala C: Small room, single bed, shared bath with D Usually $60/day Ramashala D: Small room, single bed, shared bath with C Bali Hut: single bed, shared bath with C & D. Prana: Separate building across lawn. Upstairs is largest unit: 2 king beds, queen futon in small loft, full kitchen, and bath. Usually $150/ or more depending on number staying there. Downstairs is another yoga/exercise studio with large bath. Adjacent is walled garden area with large Jacuzzi hot tub.
