Vacation Rental Description
We offer 4 beautiful ocean view studios. Great Kailua Kona location, quiet setting, 10 minutes to beaches, golf, harbor, & airport. All studios have kitchenette or a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV, full baths, free WiFi, covered lanais, queen beds, sleeper sofas for extra guests, and convenient on-site parking. The Orchid Suite has a full kitchen and the Pineapple and Plumeria Suites have a separate sitting area and walk-in closets. Free use of washer/dryer, beach chairs, towels, coolers, and boogie boards.  
 
Your hosts, Anne and daughter, Nanette have lived in Kona and explored this island for over 20 years. We greet our guests in person and are available throughout their stay to help plan their outings. We especially enjoy our European visitors, as we both speak German. A welcome basket of fresh tropical fruit, baked goods and juice awaits our guests at arrival. Coffee, tea and cocoa are provided. We offer the following 4 Studios: 
 
HIBISCUS ROOM (sleeps 3) - lovely, large, tiled, first floor room with queen bed, sleeper sofa, full bath, covered lanai, kitchenette, cable TV, and WiFi. It has a wonderful garden view, and you can see the Kona coastline through the banana trees, which are so close, you can almost pick the fruit from the lanai.  
$85/nt single, $95/nt double. 
 
PINEAPPLE SUITE (sleeps 4)- spacious, first floor suite (over 600sf) with separate sitting area. It has a queen bed, 2 sleeper sofas, full bath, walk-in closet, covered lanai, kitchenette, cable TV, and WiFi. There is a view of the ocean through the banana trees. 
$95/nt single, $105/nt double. 
 
PLUMERIA SUITE (sleeps 4) - top floor ocean view suite (over 600sf) with separate sitting area and vaulted ceilings. It has a queen bed, 2 sleeper sofas, full bath, walk-in closet, covered lanai, kitchenette, cable TV, and WiFi. 
$115/nt single, $125/nt double. 
 
 
ORCHID SUITE - (sleeps 4) - top floor ocean view suite (over 600sf) with vaulted ceilings and a full kitchen with modern appliances. It has a queen bed, 2 sleeper sofas, full bath, covered lanai, LCD cable TV, and WiFi. 
$115/nt single, $125/nt double. 
 
Additional guests in any unit are $10/night extra. 
We offer a 10% weekly discount and a 20% two week discount for all studios. 
 
 
We also rent out the entire 4BE/4BA Ocean View Home. It is about 2,600 square feet, has wraparound lanais on both floors, and an ocean view of the Kona Coastline. There are 4 queen beds and 7 sleeper sofas. $395/night. One week minimum. No cleaning fees.

    • Bears' Place is a great home-base for exploring the Big Island of Hawaii. Centrally located 7 miles north of downtown Kailua Kona, at a comfortable elevation in a quiet neighborhood, we are 10-15 minutes from the airport and the beautiful beaches along the Kona-Kohala Coast. We are half a mile from the picturesque Makalei Hawaii Golf Course. Waimea is a half hour drive, and Hilo and Volcanoes National Park make a great day trip.  
     
    Kona offers world class snorkeling and diving, great boogie boarding and surfing, and a free, solar heated, olympic size swimming pool for all to enjoy. Whalewatch, swim with dolphins, go zip lining, and enjoy spectacular views while horseback riding. Visit Mauna Kea, world renowned for its observatories or explore active volcanoes. Enjoy the historical sites, tour a Kona coffee farm or a seahorse farm. Lots for everyone to do!

    Prices subject to Hawaii State taxes of 13.41%. 10% Weekly Discount. RESERVATATIONS: Secure, online reservations can be made on our website at WWW.BEARSPLACEKONA.COM We have a 3 night minimum. Reservations require a deposit of 50% of the total. The balance is due at check-in. We accept Visa and Mastercard. CANCELLATION POLICY: Guests can receive a refund, less a $25 processing fee, if they cancel their reservation in writing at least 6 weeks prior to scheduled arrival. Otherwise, the deposit may still be refunded if the room is re-rented. Guests who find it necessary to arrive late or depart early are still responsible for the full amount of their reservation, unless we can rebook the room. SMOKING is not allowed in our home, but guests can smoke outdoors.
