This custom renovation of a classic redwood bungalow with a modernist flare, has eucalyptus hardwood floors, sports fresh paint and curtains, new double spa tub with rain fall shower and marble surround, granite topped vanity, updated kitchen, complimentary washer and dryer, designer lighting and ceiling fans, plus new furniture and local art. The attention to detail here will make your visit comfortable and pleasing in this, joyful and very clean non-smoking environment. The Plantation Bungalow is located in Pepe'ekeo in the heart of the Hilo Coast, at the head of the uniquely beautiful four mile 'Scenic Drive,' which skirts the ocean just north of Historic Hilo Town and by Honoli'i surfing beach. Akaka Falls is only a few miles north with a NEW ZIP LINE and a short 45 min. drive will have you at the Volcano National Parks Crater, from there you can travel to Capt Cook Cove, Place of Refuge Federal park, and beach parks along the way.
The neighbors, mostly retired from the plantation, are jewels and represent a wonderful and rare aspect of Hawaiian Heritage and the manicured landscaping in this area is meticulously cared for. The Hamakua Coast offers unparalleled outdoor activities on the east side including nearby Akaka Falls, the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, and beautiful hiking trails. We are located a short drive from Honoli'i Beach, a great local surfing spot. This part of the coast is laced with streams, waterfalls and swimming holes, all against a backdrop of lush tropical vegetation. The Farmers Market and The Fish Market should be must see places on you list.
