Fisherman's Retreat offers an exceptional fishing and family fun experience. The trout fishing (rainbow and brown trout) is outstanding because the 100 foot wide, rock strewn,cold river is very conducive to healthy and abundant trout. Fly fishermen love the place because of the wide open space and easy river access at the shallow river bank. And, children love the park-like setting with the large open lawn for horseshoe game, ball games and chase games. Th little ones particularly enjoy the old fashioned tire swing, and the adults can enjoy the riverside or screened porch bench swings.  
 
The cabin is fully equipped with cooking and eating utensils, all linens and starter supplies of tissue and paper towels. In addition, laundry facilities are provided with soap, etc.. 
 
Fisherman's Retreat has many extras that are provided without added cost. We provide tube floats and rafts for use on the river or bikes to ride on the private road (we are at the end with our own gated entry). The 4-person hot tub situated on the outside patio is cleaned after every use with patio furniture and gas or charcoal grills provided nearby.  
 
You can fish directly from the river deck with spinning tackle or use your fly rod, wade out and have a large open river to try your skill. Further, trout fishing is open season all year although you will require the proper license which can be purchased nearby. 
 
In the summer growing season we maintain a small garden that usually will provide you with fresh squash and tomatoe vegetables and blueberries and muscadine grapes. The blueberries, if the weather cooperates, are usually available from July to September.  
 
The three separate bedrooms offer extremely comfortable beds and other appointments, and the attached loft area and sunroom have additional beds. Two large flat screen TVs with satellite service and DVD/VCR players with movies are provided.

Nearby to Lake Blue Ridge boat launch facility and Blue Ridge Marina (for boat or jet ski rental). Also, near a lakeside park area with swimming and picnic area. We have terrific fire pit that everyone like to sit around to roast hotdogs, marshmallows and have a group gab session. We go the extra mile to provide firewood and starter kindling to start the fire. In addition, we provide both a gas grill and a charcoal grill, for those that prefer one or the other. To help with the fishing we provide fish food that attracts the trout from downstream. Don't forget that in the summer we have a garden for tomatoes, squash, beans, blueberries, blackberries, muscadines (late summer) and possible some other stuff. For washing off after a dip in the river there is a hot/cold outside shower. We have tube, rafts and life jackets if you plan on a run down the river for a pickup at the downstream park (at Curtis Switch road bridge.

				Low Season Price:	$155 per Day
				High Season Price:	$185 per Day

The rates quoted apply for up two guests. For additional guests there is a $10 per day rate per guest. The current low season rate of $155 applies until March 31, 2010. A 25% deposit is required to reserve the rental dates, balance due 15 days before entry. Special promotional discounts may apply, call for details. A 10% sales and lodging discount and a $75 cleaning fee will be added to basic rental day charges. If you wish to reserve but may need to change your reservation to another period, we are very flexible. With a 60 day notice we will change your reservation to another available period without added cost to you. When you reserve we will email a copy of our rental conditions and if you have concerns (within 24 hours after receipt of the conditions)about the rental we will fully refund your deposit. Payment accepted by Visa or Mastercard.
