Ten minutes to Blue Ridge with shops, scenic train ride, Lake Blue Ridge, tubing, kayaking, and trout fishing on the Toccoa River. 15 minutes to Ellijay (the apple capital of Georgia), with antique shopping, Carters Lake, and the Cartecay River. 
 
Just 25 minutes from the Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina border and the towns of McCaysville, Copperhill, and Ducktown. 35 minutes from the Olympic Water Sports Venue on the Ocoee River. Day trips to Brasstown Bald (Georgia’s highest mountain), Helen (Little Bavaria), Dahlonega (Georgia’s Gold Rush City), and other scenic spots.
