A beautiful 4 bedroom house with a master suite with king, 2nd master has a queen, bedrooms 3 and 4 each have two single beds and share the 3rd bathroom. 2 living areas, one with the entertainment centre and another quieter area with a formal living room and dining area. The large kitchen has an eat-in area, but most guests spend their time enjoying the lanai and pool. We have a table seating 8 and 4 very comfortable sunloungers. The lake is visited by birds & small mammals who enjoy the water, or shelter in the big oak in the back yard. We are 10-15 minutes leisurely drive from wide gulf beaches to the West & the same distance south takes you to the smaller Caribbean style beaches on the island. You could visit a different beach every day of the week! The local area has great State Parks, superb fishing, fantastic golf & great restaurants.

They are wide Gulf beaches and some smaller, Caribbean style beaches on the island. 2 examples are Chadwick Park at Englewood Beach: 16 acres of amenities including pavilion, boardwalk, BBQ grills, picnic shelters, playground, restrooms, volleyball courts and fishing.

Bedroom 1 en-suite with king size bed. Bedroom 2 en-suite with queen size bed. Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds Bedroom 4 has 2 single beds Bathrooms: The master bathroom: bedroom 1 has a tub, separate shower, wc, his/hers vanities. The master bathroom: bedroom 2 has a walk-in shower, wc and single vanity. Bathroom 3 has bath with overhead shower, wc and single vanity & directly accessed from pool. Kitchen: The kitchen has cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer with ice & cold water, coffee maker, toaster, mixer, outdoor plasticware for eating and drinking on the pool deck. Utility Room: washing machine and tumble dryer Living Rooms: The Family Room has a 32" TV, DVD and radio. There are books and adults games available for guests to use. The seating is for 6-8 guests. The formal living area has seating for 6-8 guests & the adjoining dining area has a table which seats 6 guests.

Coast/Beach 
We have wonderful beaches to both our West and to our South. They are wide Gulf beaches and some smaller, Caribbean style beaches on the island.  
 
Golf 
There are 6 golf courses on Rotonda alone with dozens within a 15 mile radius.  
 
Travel 
The nearest airport would be either Sarasota (50 minutes) or RSW (Ft Myers) 1 hour. Tampa International Airport is about 90 minutes drive, Orlando 2.5 hrs and Miami 3.25 hrs.  
 
More and more guests are flying into the US via US Airways or Delta and transferring to RSW. It's a good flight and RSW is a lovely airport.  
 
Distances 
Everything here seems to be measured in 15 minutes! It's 15 minutes to Port Charlotte, 30 minutes to Venice, 15 minutes to Gasparilla Island and 15 minutes to the beaches!  
 
Shopping is 5-10 minutes depending on where you are going. There are supermarkets on each of the 3 exits from Rotonda and Wal-Mart on the 776 is open 24 hours a day.

Welcome to Rotonda West – a peaceful, planned community situated near the beautiful Gulf of Mexico in southwest Florida. It is located mid-way between Sarasota and Fort Myers. The community is predominantly full-time homeowners and their families, as well as tenants and those who winter in the community.

There are five golf courses operated by Rotonda Golf and Country club. Thirty miles of picturesque canals, lakes and ponds wind through the community and offer fishing and boating opportunities for its residents.

Many exotic and beautiful birds call Rotonda West home, as it is a designated Bird Sanctuary. Nearby recreation facilities, beaches, theaters, sporting events, and fine restaurants are available for all.


The weather usually stays relatively mild. In the summer, it's not uncommon for temperatures to get into the mid-90's, but this is tempered by sea breezes from the Gulf. At night in the summer, temperatures quickly drop to the low to mid 70's. In the winter, hard freezes are rare, but occasionally occur. It's more common to have frost on the ground briefly in pre-dawn hours, but it melts shortly after sunrise. This usually only happens 2 or 3 times during the winter. Temperatures average 50 - 70 degrees during the winter. On a sunny winter day, it's rare for the temperature to stay below 50 degrees for long.

Summer thunderstorms are not uncommon. Florida is known as the lightning capital of the world. The dry season is in the spring.

We had a great vacation in this wonderful house, that was even better than we ever expected! Kids just loved the pool and the warmer water was the adults' favourite too! We saw a great deal of wildlife starting with alligators and birds, but the most liked visitor in our neighborhood was a Panther! Awesome!

What a Great House!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the pool was lovely and warm - we were in every day! We saw a bobcat in the backyard, several alligators on the far bank and many, many birds.
The shopping was wonderful, especially Bealls and Bealls Outlet. One couple golfed almost ever yday and loved the courses.

The dining out was magnificent, Bob Evans, the Pig & Whistle pub, Olive Garden and a 'must see' for the area was Harpoon Harry's at Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda.

We travelled around the area - another must see was 1 hr down the I75 to Naples, absolutely beautiful.

Fabulous Holiday!
We've had a fabulous holiday in your beautiful home. Seen lots of wildlife, 2 alligators, family of raccoons, otter and lots of birds. The weather was really kind to us so very disappointed not being able to use the pool (heater not working) so hope it will be repaired for next guests. Have fun!
