Melport House is set in South Gulf Cove and has deep water access together with a boat dock and lift. Ideal for fishing if you don't own a boat!! There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a games room with slightly undersize pool table. The bedrooms are a good size and the main living area includes a dining area, living room, kitchen and utility room. There is a double garage and also off road parking. If you are looking for a beautifully furnished and equipped house, a sun soaked pool area and tranquility, Melport House is for you! The lanai is enormous! There is a shaded seating area under the lanai and a 2nd area is the sun for relaxation. The lanai is south rear facing, so if you are looking for a tan, it is perfect! There are no houses on the Melport Waterway far bank, so it is unbelievably quiet. It's perfect! Beaches are close by, a 10-15 minute drive, shops about the same and there are plenty of golf courses including 6 on Rotonda which is very close by.

South Gulf Cove is close to the island of Boca Grande and is on the opposite side of the road to Rotonda West. It's a sleepy community laced by deep water access canals It is not highly developed and it is generally the east and west parts of South Gulf Cove which are more developed. The boaters prefer the east side because it is closer to deep water access into Charlotte Harbor and this is where you will find Melport House. It is a perfect location for a couple looking for some serious rest and relaxation, but also great for family holidays were you can enjoy numerous beaches, friendly locals and fabulous weather. You will need a car here, everything seems to be about 5-15 minutes leisurely drive, but it is certainly worth the effort. The area is known in the travel industry as one of Florida's Best Kept Secrets, visit us and you will see why!

Boating in Florida: Our home backs onto a deep water access waterway, so you can bring your own boat or jet ski's, or possibly hire a boat for your stay, or just enjoy the boat dock and some good fishing! The intercoastal waterway is a wonderful boaters paradise with small islands to explore, restaurants to visit which you can only reach by boat or just go out and marvel at the wildlife. You may see brown and white pelicans, Osprey, Manatee, Dolphins or Turtles and the fishing is wonderful!  
 
FISHING: Fishing is one of the passions for visitors to this area. From mid-April to mid-July, the mighty Tarpon game fish arrive in their thousands into Charlotte Harbor and Boca Pass is one of the best spots to participate or to watch the battle between man and fish!  
 
GOLF: It's the USA and golf is high on many people lists. There are 6 courses on Rotonda and literally dozens outside.

We very much enjoyed our extended stay (due to volcanic ash cloud). My brothers loved fishing at Stump Pass Beach and feeding the Blue Heron with freshly caught fish. I loved collecting the sharks teeth. I found over 200! We especially liked the villa and the pool. I personally loved sleeping in a double bed. Our family liked eating out at Joe Crackers Sports Grill. Many thanks to the Villa Management company. They were a big help in a crisis.
