Riverwood is located within 1200 acres of Florida tropical natural preserved areas abundant with birdlife and tropical foliage with walking & bike paths. Within this gated community all streets are private and not open to public. Your streets are quiet and delightful to take strolls or fast strides past beautiful scenery and wildlife!!  
 
Our place is directly on Silver Lakes in an exceptionally quiet & peaceful natural area within Riverwood. Enjoy a expansive view of the sparkling Lake from the living area windows and glass sliders.  
It is one of the most tranquil spots you will ever encounter. In the day the sun sparkles on the Lake and at sundown you can watch sunsets over the Lake while enjoying our pool,complete with a waterfall and swim up table. De-stress & enjoy refreshments at the bar on our screened lanai & patio. During winter leave all the patio glass sliders open and hear the fish jumping, and enjoy the birds wading and fishing on the lake. Of course there are many, many birds and wildlife in winter especially around the lakes & the river that is within Riverwood too. We have a number of endangered bald eagles & chicks with visible nests on the paths. 
 
Riverwood Golf & Country Club has an upscale community surrounding it. Our home is a fully open plan living area, comfortably & newly furnished, tropically decorated with all the fine amenities. There is a large screened patio/lanai around our pool that is furnished with lounging chairs, table and even a couch! The kitchen, which overlooks the lake, has many upscale features. It is a very easy to live in comfortable home with two bedrooms and a third which is also a den with wireless internet and local phone. The guest bath is in one wing, and in the other is the master bedroom with its own glass sliders and & ensuite bath overlook the lake. There is a garage and a separate utility room with washer & dryer. The home is all on one level with no steps, wide doors and a walk-in shower with grab bars making it accessible to many handicapped individuals. 
 
The activities Riverwood offers are pretty enticing too. The activity center has classes and mini trips(little one day outings to interesting places around Central & South Florida) There are often special activities offered on site including pool parties,bbqs, music concerts, movie & game nights, sports tournaments, art & craft fairs, etc).  
 
Port Charlotte is 4 miles away--a few short minutes drive. It is abundant with restaurants, shops, mall, as well as a fairground with weekend events and the winter training stadium for Tampa's professional baseball team, the Tampa Bay Rays with games open to the public. Boat rentals on the mile wide Myakka river are available 1/2 mile from Riverwood. The river leads to Charlotte Harbor and out to the Gulf. This area is known as the fishing 7 boating capital of the central Florida coast! 
 
For beach lovers Riverwood is close to many white sandy beaches including world class shelling ones..

At Riverwood's private activity center we have tennis courts that are lit at night, as well as bocce & croquet courts. The exercise room is very well outfitted with top of the line Nautaulis equipment labeled to show you what muscle group each one uses. The library on site hosts an extensive collection of brand new books. As a guest here there is no charge to use these facilities as we have paid for them through our home owners yearly fees. We have our own pool at the house, however, if you wish to swim really long laps there is a jr. olympic size pool with separate whirlpool spa at the activity center. It has a particularly nice large patio with loungers and tables with umbrellas and a nice shaded area.

We are only a very few minutes from town, shopping, mall & restaurants. We also are near many terrific beaches. (15 minutes to Englewood Beach and 20 to Venice Beach). 
Sanibel Island is known for being one of the best shellling beaches in the world! 
 
There is a brand new baseball stadium a few minutes away from Riverwood. The stadium hosts the major league Tampa Rays baseball training camp.  
 
We are less than an hour from Sarasota with gardens, many fine museums and top notch entertainment & a really good airport. 
 
Tampa, Orlando,Cape Canaveral Space Center, the Everglades, Miami & the Florida Keys are 2-3 hours away and we have lots of suggestions on activities and our favorite restaurants.
