Was the listing descripton accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc?
Description was very accurate, as were the photos
Was the property clean, was it well-maintained, etc?
Impecably clean and well maintained
Did the owner provide good customer service?
Anne was a pleasure to do business with, and very responsive
Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative?
The only reason I wouldn't would be because I want to make sure it is available for my return!
What activities, attractions and restaurants did you like or dislike:
My teenage daughters and I really used this as an opportunity to spend the majority of our days at the beach (we started in Orlando, and they got their theme park fill first!). We brought a cookbook and decided on recipes the first night, then went to Publix (conveniently located). The kitchen is so well equipped, and the condo is so enjoyable, we had all of our meals there. Hard to find a restaurant with a view like that, and the rare opportunity to fix meals as a team!
After spending several days searching the internet for just the right place, I was extremely proud of myself for finding this haven! The wildlife is an added bonus, and we even enjoyed a day of rain, because of what it brought in: birds, bigger waves, fast moving clouds and a fantastic sunset. The pool is a very nice size, and although I couldn't pull myself away from the beach, the teenagers enjoyed having the option of the pool.
With the exception of one daughter getting bug bites (out on the beach at sunset without bugspray), this was a fantastic location to spend a very memorable vacation!

5 Best building at the south end of the beach

We rented Anne and Graham's condo for the last two weeks of December (my wife and I and our two children, ages 12 & 15). The pictures on their listing accurately describe it, There is plenty of room for a family of four with pretty much everything you need.
There are two reasons it is the best building at the south end of the beach. First, it has the easiest access around the "lagoon" that comes and goes with the tides. It is a longer walk to the "main" beach from any other complex immediately north or south of Leonardo Arms. It literally takes less than a minute to get to the beach. Second, of the three buidlings that make up Leonardo Arms, it is the closest to the beach and it is the only one where every unit faces the beach. So you don't have to leave your balcony to enjoy the glorious sunsets!
Now to the beach itself. The sand is soft and smooth. We saw dolphins every second day and they come within 50 feet of the shore. There are birds everywhere: pelicans, egrets, inbises, herons, and many we couldn't identify (although they have a poster in the unit with a picture of every bird if you want to keep track). Crabs and conches wash up on the shore. Our daughter spent some time every day collecting shells that she found interesting. And the "lagoon" was fascinating, changing every day with the tide. This was our first time on a gulf side beach and we won't go back to the Atlantic. The gulf is much more calm and interesting.
My wife and I went walking/running/biking every day on Estero Blvd. There were always lots of people out doing the same, all with a friendly greeting or a smile. Restaurants, a pharmacy, and a 7-11 are within easy walking distance.
There are only two caveats. One, use the south exit off the beach whenever possible. The north end can get backed up and take more than 30 minutes to get off the island. In any case, most of the nice shopping and restaurant areas are in the Naples/Bonita Springs/Estero are so you don't really need to go out the north end to Fort Myers. Two, if you are a golfer it is not ideal. There is a executive course across the street and it's okay but overpriced (probably because it's the only game in town). To get to a full length course off the beach requires at least a half hour drive. Going first thing in the morning would be your best bet.
In summary, we loved the condo and the area and we will definitely be going back. Anne is great to deal with. You won't be sorry.

5 Perfect getaway

Near perfect getaway. Great beachfront views and very easy access to beach. Great location, very close to Santaini plaza and the trollee bus stops right outside.
Condo is clean, modern, quiet and very well supplied with full kitchenware, soaps, toilet paper, beach chairs and beach towels etc.
The view from the balcony is sensational, great place to sit and watch the dolphins and so much wild life to enjoy, and watch the amazing sunsets over the Gulf.
We would definitely recommend this condo. It is an excellent place to get away from it all.
The complex itself is clean and well maintained, with good facilities, including a large swimming pool, shuffle board and attractive grounds.
At first we were sceptical that we could survive without a car. But we found the local transport excellent and very reliable. The all day pass was very reasonable priced at $2.50 for all day usage giving us access to all the malls etc.
My husband and I and two teenage daughters had a most enjoyable holiday.
The owners were very helpful and friendly replying quickly to any questions we had.

My wife and I had spent several evenings on the internet during January 2009 looking for rental property on the Gulf of Mexico when we came across this condo. We felt the description and the location of this property met our requirements - and we were certainly not disappointed! Everything had been accurately described and the property was very clean and well maintained, in fact, on entering the condo we both said "wow this is fantastic!"
The condo was beautifully furnished and decorated, and the kitchen 1st class and fully equipped. There was ample bed linen and plenty of towels.
The laundry facilities on the 2nd floor were easy to access, clean and simple to use.
We stayed 16 days and never tired of the stunning beach and gulf views and the fantastic sunsets all of which we enjoyed whilst just relaxing or dining on the balcony.
The large outdoor pool and the surrounding area and grounds were spotless and beautifully kept; the beach just a few easy steps away. The BBQ area was well laid out and well maintained.
The Santini shopping mall was nearby with a good variety of shops, bars and eateries and also a post office. We dined at the Sanbar Grille twice - great food and service. Further along Estero Boulevard we ate at the Snook Bight Restaurant (Yacht Club behind the Publix supermarket) and the Gulfshore Grille - both very nice.
We played golf at Fort Myers Beach Golf Club just across the road - public course - par 61 - in excellent condition and where we were made to feel very welcome.
We also used the trolley bus to Time Square at the north end of the island - where various watersports/ restaurants/ cafes/shops and bars can be accessed. The Trolley stops just outside the condo grounds.
We would highly recommend a visit to The Edison & Ford Winter Estates at Fort Myers and also the Everglades.
This is a very restful and quiet location where all residents respect each other's space and privacy. However, on meeting up with residents at the pool or on the private wooden pier (to watch the sunset) we found them to be very friendly, helpful and chatty.
Although we have only been in contact with the owners Anne and Graham by telephone or e-mail we feel we know them quite well. They have been very friendly and helpful and made our first attempt at renting a condo on the Gulf Coast a rewarding experience.
We would certainly recommend this condo and all it offers to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.

5 Best Place to Stay

My wife and I are 57 and physically active.
In our opinion, this unit is all positives and no negatives.
It is very clean and the kitchen remodel is first class.
We have spent several years renting condos on the beach and can say this is the best we have found. We stayed here for a month. In addition to great sunbathing, walks and fishing, the beach is unique with an everchanging lagoon (with the tide), an abundance of wildlife and outstanding sunsets! This building 2 is located so you hear no road noise and all ocean. The pool is very nice and is said to be the largest on the beach.
This place is for anyone who wants a peaceful, interesting and fun place to stay. The owner/neighbors are friendly people who take pride in their property keeping the entire area well maintained. We heard no loud parties the entire time we were there.
No disposal trucks enter this complex. The dumpsters are always towed by golf cart to the road to be emptied.
Across the road within easy walking distance is the Santini Mall which includes a hardware, many shops, bars and a first class resturant (The South Beach Grille) which serves an outstanding steak. Be sure to try tuna. It's the best. Eat breakfast at Sky's. Great food at a great price.
The trolley runs frequently all the way from Bonita Springs to down town Ft. Myers beach square for $.50 per person each way ($.25) for seniors with numerous stops including one at Leonardo Arms.
We recommend this condo for anyone who appreciates all the nice things it offers, is aware that neighbors live close by who are respectful of your privacy and appreciate the same in return.
Owner's Response: A super review from super renters!
Our aim is for you to enjoy your vacation with as little stress as possible. After all we would like you to return again next year!
We have put alot of thought into our second home and would like our renters to feel as much at home there as we do, in this beautiful part of Florida.
