'Southern Belle' is unique among vacation homes in Key West. First of all, is the location: This lavish mansion is located at one of Key West's most exclusive addresses, on Caroline Street just inside the presidential gates of the Truman Annex. Then there is the history: When you stand on this home's spacious wrap around porch in the evening, you can't help but imagine the lavish parties that must have taken place here; naval officers in their dress uniforms, their wives in gowns, all sipping champagne while a tropical breeze wafts through the french doors.
Today, 'Southern Belle' has central air conditioning, and the way we dress for a party is a whole lot less formal, but you can still feel the history in every room, from the original hardwood floors and the 10 foot ceilings in every room, to the fireplace in the living room and the gracious proportions of this very large 4500 square foot home. Of course, there are numerous other modern improvements as well: Each of the 7 bedrooms has a flat screen TV; the living room and family room have extra large flat screen monitors; the kitchen is equipped with the best appliances available and there is a large heated pool beside the house. Outside, the tropical landscaping has been carefully designed and tended to provide great views, while still maintaining your privacy.
You'll have your own keys that will provide direct access to and from the waterfront via private gates. Wireless high-speed Internet access and Cable TV are included. Both the living room and family room are equipped with large high definition flat screen TV's with expanded cable service.
