Vacation Rental Description
Charming & affordable 1st floor apartment right on the ocean sleeps up to 4 in the sleeping area. There is a comfortable living area with flatscreen TV and DVD, kitchenette with a full refrigerator, 2 burner stovetop, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, kitchen sink, and a full bathroom with shower. The first floor sits behind the dune but you have direct access right to the beach on the house’s boardwalk. All linens and dishes are included. You can rent this apartment for just $500 per week or $1500 per month. There is also the option of renting the 3rd floor guestroom and bath for $65 per night for overnight guests. Description of the whole house available only in July: Pelican Point is a charming “old Florida” style beach home with all the modern conveniences located oceanfront at Vilano Beach near historic St. Augustine. The house has three decks and a large screened porch as well as high ceilings, antiques, multiple ceiling fans, and beaded board and paneled walls. The house is equipped with wifi high-speed internet, widescreen TVs, a whirlpool bath, a modern kitchen, and air-conditioning.
The third floor has two bedrooms, two baths and a sitting room. In the master bedroom, there is a king-size bed overlooking the ocean and a master bath with a sit-down shower and separate whirlpool tub. The bathroom is constructed from Italian travertine (as are all the bathrooms) and equipped with its own deck and ocean views. The guest bedroom has a queen-size bed and bath, and opens onto a separate deck overlooking the ocean. A sitting room adjoins the bedroom and bath,and has a daybed situated underneath windows with ocean views. Because we are the highest home along this stretch of beach, there are unimpaired views in all directions. Interior and exterior stairs connect the third floor with the second.
The second floor has a bedroom, one and a half baths, a screened porch, a large living room and dining area, and a kitchen. The screened porch has both and westerly and easterly views (so guests can see the sunset and rise!) French doors connect the porch to a large living room with heart pine floors, five ceiling fans, antique pieces and comfortable old rockers. Additionally, there is an electric fireplace to give the room warmth on blustery days. The kitchen and dining area open onto the living room, thus guests have panoramic ocean views. The kitchen is fully equipped with a pantry, refrigerator, range, microwave and dishwasher. And the bedroom (equipped with a kingsize bed has a deck with ocean views and its own private bath. There is also a laundry room and half bath on this floor.
We welcome friends and families with small children and have available for use: a crib, high chair, children’s table and chairs, a sandbox, and games, books and puzzles for all ages.
We provide all linens: towels, sheets, and beach chairs. The kitchen has pots and pans, blender, coffemaker, toaster and toaster oven,microwave, and plenty of dishes, etc. There is also a barbecue grill, hammocks, porch swing, used boogie boards, and beach toys. Everything you need for a relaxing vacation. A bike lane runs in front of our house and bikes can be rented.
Pelican Point is 5 miles from historic St. Augustine and 15 miles from several golf courses: Sawgrass, Players Championship, new World Golf Village, etc. In addition, Serenata Beach Club is only a few blocks north of us, and because we are members, for an additional weekly family rate, renters have the option of using their three pools, jacuzzi and fitness room. Fine restaurant, 3 pools, jacuzzi, lifeguarded beach, and fitness room are nearby for renters who want to join. We provide all linens.
Activities
We are about 2 hours from Orlando with DisneyWorld, Universal Studios, MGM studios, Epcot Center, and SeaWorld. The Jacksonville zoo is an hour away. we are less than two hours from some of Florida's beautiful springs and rivers where you can rent canoes, see Manatees and other wildlife.

1st floor studio apartment is available year round for $500 per week or $1500 per month. If you rent the first floor you may rent the 3rd floor guest room and bath for $65 per night. The cleaning fee $75for the first floor and $25 for the guest room. We are pet friendly if your pet is free of fleas and ticks and housebroken.Large dogs are $75 per week and small dogs or cats are $35 per week. There is a $500 security deposit. All rent is due 30 days before your arrival. Your security deposit is returned provided there is no damage to the property. A written cancellation is permitted up to 60 days before the arrival date with a $50 cancellation fee. The $500 deposit is forfeited if booking is canceled from 30-60 days before your arrival. For cancellations within 30 days of your arrival you will be charged the full amount of your rental. Exceptions: If the unit is re-rented for some or all nights, refunds for nights re-rented will always be made. There is a 10% tax.

Pelican Point
We have been renting our oceanfront home since the winter of 2002 and enjoy sharing it with couples, and family or friend groups. St Augustine is a wonderful town with lots to do and many terrific restaurants. Three of the best are within walking distance of our home with great views of the water. This is a quiet family beach and indeed these restaurants are about the only commercial businesses within about 2 miles. Our house sits up high on a sand dune and is a great spot for watching dolphins, pelicans, eagles, and occasionally whales and manatees. We belong to the Serenata Beach Club which is about 3 blocks north of us and so our renters can join for their week and use the 3 pools, jacuzzi overlooking the ocean, fitness room and wonderful restaurant. We have seven adult children and hope to retire here in a few years (hence all the bedrooms and bathrooms!).
