There are a variety of restaurants and shops within walking distance and a free trolley bus that runs the length of the island. Parasailing, deep sea fishing, boat trips, fishing from the beach and sailing are just a few of the many activities right on your doorstep. Orlando and all its attractions is two hours away, Busch Gardens and Tampa are within an hour's drive and St Petersburg is only half an hour away.

Anna Maria Island is a great family location with a seven mile stretch of white sand beach and is situated on the Southwest side of Tampa Bay. The island boasts many restaurants, a variety of shops and supermarkets, all accessible by the island's free trolley bus that runs the length of the island. There is a fishing pier where you can rent a rod for $2 per hour and have a meal and refreshments. You can walk for miles along the beach collecting shells, watching the bird life or just paddling in the aquamarine warm water. Sarasota with its Jungle Gardens, Mote Aquarium, restaurants and St Armands Circle is only 15 minutes away past the island of Longboat Key. Anna Maria is joined to the mainland by two bridges and there is a large shopping mall in the city of Bradenton 20 minutes away. All the amenities of the Tampa Bay/Clearwater area are within easy reach.
