Vacation Rental Description
This large English basement located in the heart of Capitol Hill offers Urban luxury with plenty of international accents. Whether it’s the Moroccan lanterns that cast exotic shadows in the open corridor, or the French-brand or luxury amenities in the bathroom, the French and American owners definitely have the “French touch.”
Technically a studio, this 816 sq ft unit feels extremely spacious with its dedicated bedroom, living room, dining area, kitchen, reading nook and bathroom. The queen bed and two daybeds in the living area accommodate up to 4 people comfortably. Curtain stylishly divide the space.
Like Paris, Washington is a walking city. Step outside the front entrance and explore both the popular and hidden treasures of Capitol Hill. A ten-minute walk takes you to bustling Eastern Market—-one of the only remaining merchant markets left in Washington. A trip on the weekend gives visitors a sense of the character and charm that residents and guests from all over the world have come to appreciate. Browse the craft stands of local artists and artisans or shop for antiques. Enjoy breakfast at the Market Lunch or pick up some fresh produce, fish or meat to bring back for the grill.
Within 10-20 minutes walking, you will find many significant American landmarks, museums, and monuments (i.e. U.S. Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, Folger Shakespeare Library, Union Station, the Marine Corps Barracks, and Congressional Cemetery). Venture down one of the historic residential alleyways like Archibald Walk and Brown’s Court. Each will tell a story of their own. The unit is located between two Metro stations: Eastern Market and Union Station. Both are within a mile or less.
