2 Bedroom House in Jefferson

This nearly new quintessential Colorado mountain house getaway is secluded, yet near lots of attractions. Our 1400 square foot home is located just 1 3/4 hours from Denver or Colorado Springs. Hike, bike, fish, or sight see, and return to your cozy mountain cabin with all the comforts of home. Enjoy unprecedented peace, quiet and 180 degree views of the snow-capped Rockies, meadows, trees and rock outcroppings from the 20 foot wall of windows or loft. Look for antelope, deer, elk, golden eagles, owl and bear from the wrap around 500 square foot deck.  
 
The home sits on two heavily wooded acres, has a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and Aspen tongue and groove ceilings. Two bedrooms offer queen beds with a full size sleeper sofa in the loft. Stay connected with satellite Internet, or enjoy movies on the DVD Player/Sony 32' TV. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking or baking, and there’s a gas BBQ on the deck for evening cookouts. Leave refreshed, relaxed and recharged! 
 
Master bedroom contains a comfy, Serta queen mattress with cozy comforter, nightstand, chest of drawers and mirror. Views out the two windows of the surrounding mountains and pines to die for! Large closet with pine doors. Very rustic. We provide all freshly laundered sheets and towels for your party. 
 
Second bedroom contains a comfy queen mattress with nightstand and chest of drawers. Great views of the surrounding pines. Large closet with pine doors. 
 
Loft is approximately 15 X 20 and contains an office with desk and chair, free satellite Internet connection, and a fax/scanner/copier/printer. The loft can also be used for a game area, entertaining, or just reading and napping. There is a full size pull out sofa that will sleep two people, as well as an additional sofa, Lazy Boy rocker/recliner, and table and lamp.

The gourmet kitchen is equipped with gas range, microwave oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster oven, and 21 cu ft refrigerator with ice maker. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, griddles, etc., as well as baking tools and supplies. Drinking glasses, wine glasses, plates, coffee/tea cups, and utensils are all provided. The living room comes with a 32" Sony TV with DVD player (bring your own DVDs or share ours). There is no television reception. We have a CD player and stereo radio hooked to our sound system. Our office is equipped with free satellite internet (limited upload and download speed - no SKYPE, steaming video, or online games), and Canon copier/scanner/printer. You bring your laptop. Please bring your cell phone (AT&T, Verizon, and T-mobile all work - for sure - others usually do as well), as we no longer have a land line. Washer and dryer provided in the basement as a courtesy.

• Travel Info: Centrally located in Park County, we are situated between Denver and Colorado Springs - but about 40 to 50 miles due west near the Continental Divide, Jefferson, and Kenosha Pass. Let's just say its a beautiful drive from either city and a great jumping off point to lots of attractions; Breckenridge skiing (39 miles), Buena Vista and river rafting the Arkansas, the Royal Gorge in Canon City, Pikes Peak, Tarryall Reservoir, the Colorado Trail, Jefferson Lake, Lost Creek Wilderness area, Fairplay's old gold mining town, Kenosha Pass, Boreas Pass, and Georgia Pass. Shopping and restaurants are located nearby in Fairplay, Jefferson, and Como.

We are just 39 miles to Breckenridge, and often go up for day trips to ski (other Summit ski resorts are not far from there). We are also very close to Jefferson Lake and Tarryall Resevoir to fish, boat and enjoy. Literally dozens and dozens of remote hiking trails are just a short drive away with unique views and experiences on each one. Just down the road about an hour is Buena Vista and river rafting the Arkansas. While we have all of this so close by, we often just stay in the cabin and relax, read, cook, and take in the beauty of nature, while re-energizing ourselves.
