River Forks Inn is closed for the winter and will open in May 2011. For information call 970-669-2380. It is our goal to make your stay a friendly relaxing experience. The River Forks Inn is our home and we offer it to you as your home away from home. The Historic River Forks Inn was originally built as a stage stop. It will take you back to yesteryear.
Part of the Historic River Forks Inn experience is the fabulous Big Thompson Canyon. Enjoy your drive to Rocky Mountain National Park where you will see cliffs canyons and wildlife on your way. Or just relaxing with us you can enjoy the quiet Drake community, away from the city crowds, yet Estes Park is only 10 miles and Love-land is 17 miles. The best fly fishing anywhere is right here.
Rooms:
Hummingbird Hearth: This is a corner room with a king bed, a rustic handmade headboard, with a quilted bedspread and charming decor. It has a toilet and sink, with the shower across the hall. It can be connected with the Eagle's Roost, providing an extra queen-size bed when rented together. This is our most popular room.
Big Horn Hideout: This room has a kind bed and an anteroom with a comfortable queen size futon. It has a rustic handmade headboard, quilted bedspread and charming decor, with the them being the Big Horn sheep that roam the mountain behind the lodge. It features a private bathroom with shower.
Bobcat Canyon: Bobcat Canyon This rental unit is located in the upstairs of our back cabin with a private deck with outside BBQ, and kitchen. It has a full bath (tub & shower). Cook your own breakfast or come into our restaurant for a free breakfast. Minimum two-day stay required.
Wolf's Nook: This room opens on to the second-story deck on the back of the lodge. It has a private bathroom and shower. The room has a charming decor with one king bed, a rustic handmade headboard, with a wolf-designed bedspread . The room is decorated with the personality of the wolf that is occasionally found in our area.
Fox's Den: The room opens on to the second-story deck on the back of the lodge. It has a private bathroom with shower. The room has one queen bed, and a rustic handmade headboard wit ha quilted bedspread and charming decor. This room is decorated with the personality of the fox that frequents our mountainside.
Bear's Lair: This corner room is next to the second-story deck and overlooks the north fork of the Big Thompson River. It is decorated with the personality of one of our favorite wild animals in the area, the black bear. It has a private toilet and sink with the shower across the hall. This room has one queen bed with a rustic handmade headboard, quilted bedspread and charming decor.
Elk Hollow: This room is conveniently located near the upstairs lounge. It is decorated with the personality of one of our favorite wild animals in the area, the Elk. It has a private commode and sink in a anteroom. The bedroom, one of the original hotel rooms in the hotel when it was built in 1905, has one queen bed with a rustic handmade headboard, quilted bedspread and charming decor. The shower is across the hall.
Moose Meadow: This room, one of the original hotel rooms in the hotel when it was built in 1905, has one queen bed with a rustic handmade headboard, quilted bedspread and charming decor. It is decorated with the personality of one of our favorite wild animals in the area, the moose. It has a private toilet and sink in an anteroom, and is conveniently located across the hall from the showers.
Trout Haven: The room is decorated with the personality of the fish that makes our area famous, the trout. It has a private toilet and sink. The room has one queen bed with a quilted bedspread and charming decor. Enjoy the fisherman lamps and rustic outdoors man nature of the room. Showers are across the hall.

Aerial Tramway:-Ride the Estes Park Aerial Tramway to the top of the small mountain that overlooks the town. This gives a wonderful view of the entire Estes Park Valley. At the top,buy some peanuts & feed the lively chipmunks. You will find the base station of the tramway right off of Moraine Ave in downtown Estes Park. This is one way to get a fantastic view of the area without hiking up & down the mountain sides.
Rocky Mountain National Park:-Just a 12-mile drive from our Inn,is the rock-ribbed wildness,Rocky Mountain National Park,truly a land of superlatives. Here at least 60 mountains exceed 12,000 ft,topping off at 14,259 ft on the football field-sized summit of Longs Peak. Names such as Cirrus,Chiefs Head,Isolation,Mummy,& Storm evoke the grandeur of this high landscape.
