Today's steam-powered narrow gauge train traverses its way over the restored Devil's Gate High Bridge, looming 95 feet above Clear Creek. There's shopping and dining in Georgetown, Idaho Springs, Silver Plume - wonderful historic towns.
Take "OH, MY GAWD!" road( Virginia Canyon Road) from Central City down to historic Idaho Springs - the most picturesque road you have seen. Enjoy hot mineral springs pool and geothermal mineral baths at Indian Springs Pool in Idaho Springs.
Black Hawk and Central City are located in the Rocky Mountains, about 35 miles west of Denver at an elevation of approximately 8500 feet.
