Vacation Rental Description
This floating home truly is a special corner of the world. From the moment you enter the atrium entrance with the views of the main lagoon you are are transported to another world. the gleaming hardwood floors and windows and skylights make this home bright and warm. Sit by the romantic wood burning stove at night or on the roof top deck watching the stars. The kitchen is fully eqipped with high quality pots and pans, 2 sets of dishes lots of colorful glasses etc. This home is not suitable for small children. The loft like design and the many glass lamps and tables would be a problem. It would work for a family with older children or a couple or two or three who want a romantic getaway. It is very romantic. San Francisco is a short bus or ferry ride away (30 minutes).Parking is included. The bedding is cotton and fluffy. The master features a king bed with a tempurpedic mattress. The middle bedroom is a king trundle with a featherbed, The lower captain's bed is a double futon. Take the peddleboat or canoe for a ride on the bay or bicycle to the market. This is our second home so it has all the amenities you need for a comfortable lifestyle while you are travelling. Dann, our property manager is always available by phone if you have questions or want restaurant ideas.
The walk to the houseboat from the parking lot is approximately 1/4 mile of beautiful water and garden views.
Facilities
This home is comfortable, charming and very well equipped. It is a 3 hour drive to Lake Tahoe for ski trips, 1 hour to Napa Valley for wine tasting, 10 minutes to San Francisco. Marin County has it's own Mountain, symphony, opera and theater. On Friday nights in Summer there is a free jazz festival at the lawn of the Ferry Terminal. Bring a pic nic (pic nic baswket available at the property) and hear music under the stars.
Activities
You can walk to at least 7 gourmet restauarnts, the bank, post office and wonderful super market. The community of houseboaters is very friendly and interesting. Don't be surprised if you see a seal swim by your front door or a grey heron outside your window. This is truly life at it's best. Every view is picturesque whether you see sun streaming through the skylights or the blankets of fog pouring over the headlands. There is no place like Sausalito.

Full payment must be made by cc or check 2 weeks prior to arrival or 1 month month prior during holiday periods.No cancellations allowed unless I can re-rent the entire time booked. $135.00 for cleaning fee and also occupancy tax is charged. We also accept pay pal for overseas guests.

This was the most unique accommodation I have ever rented. Fun, funky, whimsical, the perfect place to stay in Sausalito.The floating home is very well equipped and having a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival didn't hurt either. Thank you again Michele, it was wonderful! Carolyn

Our family was looking for someplace quite unique to stay on our trip to San Fran in May. Our family was too big for one hotel room and we wanted something much for fun that the usual places. We were so fortunate to find Michele and Gabor's home in Sausalito. The house boat is truly a home and we so much enjoyed coming back each day to relax and enjoy each other. The amenities were fantastic, the decorating beautiful, the neighbors very friendly. We enjoyed sitting out in the evenings facing the hills, talking to each other and savoring our favorite drinks. My wife and I and our 3 children (all in their 20s) enjoyed playing games and listening to music that Michele left for us. I had some of the best night's sleep on the fantastic master bed with the very gentle movement of the house on the water. What fun it was to watch the house boats with the ever moving tides. We took day trips to the city, went north to wine country, headed a bit west to the ocean and enjoyed the town of Sausalito. We were able to do so much exploring and yet come back to a very cozy environment. I enjoyed how well kept up the house boat was, the extra amenities that Michele left for us and the great pictures that gave us a glimpse into our hosts adventurous lives. What a unique experience that we will be talking about the rest of our lives. THANK YOU!

Hello: We are in our mid 50's , but very 'youngish' with lots of energy. We travel a lot and split our time between California, Florida and Europe.I guess we are 'gypsies-at-heart' ! :) We know what makes us happy when we stay at a vacation home, so we try our best to provide the same level of service to our would be renters. We love to see new places, meet new (liberal) people, we love animals and Animal protection Causes,and we have been doing lots of volunteer work.
We are interested in Sailing, Motorcycling, Beach-life, Hystory, Reneissance/Pirate fairs, Reading, learning.
