Surrounded by Pt. Reyes Nat'l Seashore land, this location, a bit off the beaten track, is beautifully secluded, walking distance to many of the main trails in the seashore, yet only 10 minutes to the nearest town. A wall of windows provides a dramatic forest view from the cottage main room and from a large deck nestled under an old coast live oak tree. There are roses, apple and nut trees in the cottage garden. This protected spot was chosen for its seclusion and shelter from the wind, perfect for that special time away from home. Many birds and other wild life come close to the cottage which sits above a shallow canyon and even hunting mountain lions have occasionally been spotted! Designed and built by the innkeeper, Rosemary Cottage has many hand-crafted details and much thought was given to creating a unique and comfortable space with a French-country flavor. Handmade cabinets and tile set off the well-equipped kitchen. The bedroom has a window into the woods to enjoy from the comfortable queen bed. The main room, with high peaked ceiling, has a wood-burning stove that can be run open as a fireplace, a couple of couches,one of which provides additional sleeping space. Families are welcome and a full all-organic breakfast is offered. Rosemary Cottage is 10 minutes from beaches, boating, hiking, birdwatching, horseback riding; twenty minutes from the historic Pt. Reyes Lighthouse - one of the finest whale-watching points on the Pacific coast.
